2nd Gear:

There is no gain using fuel cells. They’re too inefficient. To produce 1kg of hydrogen gas alone via electrolysis and send it to the fueling station needs something like 57kWh of energy. 1kg, which is a close quivalent to a gallon of petrol can propel a current FCEV some 60 miles. 57kWh can propel a current

Perfect!

No mention of the plugin hybrid..?

Not everything has something to do with the Beetle. We know Tesla thought of a battery pan since 2010, this is just Jag’s take on that with a forward tapered battery that’s probably more inclined to structural safety rather than a homage to a VW.

Maybe if Trucks can at least go 15 - 20 miles of EV range this might be a different story.

1st Gear: *laughs*

Well, anyone who wouldn’t know how to drive a prius wouldn’t know how to drive pretty much any plug-in.

Ten years later, what are your thoughts on Porsche’s hybrids and electrics, or just hybrids and electrics in general?

Flares or not, if that Lexus-thing... doesn’t come with a hybrid, it’s trash.

I disagree on the emissions part. Doesn’t direct injection vehicles produce more “secondary” or smog forming and health harming emissions? All has to do with how evenly the vapour is spread and burned and the fuel in port-injection engines tends to just have more time to evaporate and disperse before ignition.

Not just Fifth Gear host. Johnny’s been hosting with the sustainable energy and plug-in focused fullychargedshow too.

“Something with a stick”
Would not make a damn difference. I like in Ireland, some +85% of new cars are manuals, and a higher percentage for existing cars. I really wish to emphasize how manuals are not a luxury or some sort of art form, and it definitely doesn’t stop drivers from using their phone.

‘‘What’s sad is that you can’t get a nice cheap basic car with simple clean honest styling anymore.’’

Did you mean the Mitsubishi Mirage?

It’s a T4.... never, never, never. Steer clear from a barge like that.

Preferably one that doesn’t burn fuel in grid-lock

Mid to low 20s is horrendus! Why isn’t any US brand making a plug-in CUV/SUV? Mitsubishi does and they get 80 mpg with average charging and driving. All they’ll be doing is the 10 mile drive to work or supermarket.

Jason, isn’t there more to talk about the actual car. You know, the PHEV? The car that became the best selling PHEVs, and one of the highest selling SUVs in Europre? The car Mitsubishi North America has been desperately demanding to get since 2013? The car that many say will finally rectify Mitsubishi’s shit-as-dirt

The Civic hybrid version with a battery balancer kit would be pretty nice.

Now playing

As cool as this is, and cool as the steam-swap, this is pretty standard stuff for retired, rich english men get up to. A community that existed since the 1950s, but not dissimilar from us... They even to classic time trials.

Sorry, I just can’t get over the fact that you named your kid Otto. Lol, it makes more than enough sense!
