Personally I’m a skeptic of the self driving projects but I think its a little premature to hint this was due to local animosity towards Waymo. From the description of the event it comes across more like general rioting.

Except the Ocean is built under contract by Magna. I have a friend who basically had to give away a Karma because it died and he couldn’t get it fixed.

Thanks. I had wondered why my Veyron suddenly seemed to act like it had a potato in the tailpipe when I exited I-287 onto I-95.

You can’t have a Dutch Oven with just one person!

Yeah, I imagine a lot of “do we have a pilot on board” calls if it ever goes 1 pilot because how many times has a pilot been incapacitated and needed backup? You probably never hear about it, but I bet it happens all the time. It doesn’t even need to be a full incapacitation, could be something like they get sick mid

Doing it legit is not gangsta.

Make them as thin as you want. I’ll just keep getting fatter.

Man, you can’t even plunge to your death in comfort these days can you.

Headline: Cops finally do the damn job they are paid to do.

I missed this one earlier. Definitely a hard pass on O’hare. I’ll walk before I take a flight into or out of that shithole. The airport on Christmas Island in Kiribati is a treat. They fly 737 half cargo/half passenger planes and the customs guy boards the plane and gasses it for insects while all the passengers are

Yeah going to Europe often, this has always surprised me. But 6' blonde German lady cops in their 20's walking around with MP5's is kind of hot.

As a former Jeep salesman, leaving about a year ago, I can assure you that it is most assuredly NOT selling like hotcakes.

Full on disaster.

I’d argue the reason they made it a Jeep is it’s under a far more recognizable brand than it would’ve been through Chrysler, but the rest of what you said is spot-on.

Unfortunately, it would still be a slow seller as a Chrysler. FCA shot itself in the foot when they repositioned Dodge as the performance brand (ala Pontiac) and moved Chrysler down to the mainstream brand. Chrysler has lost it’s panache as a “blue collar luxury brand” and is just a mainstream brand.

If it were a Chrysler no one would look at it.

Once again, I am struck by something.

The sales numbers on the Grand Wagoneer are actually pretty low compared to the GM competitors. For good reason.

100% this - a base Grand Wagoneer is about $15k more than a base Yukon Denali, and the five figure discounts getting dumped on the Wagoneer sort of back that up.

There is a lot to be critical of with respect to this country (the US), but we can still do some cool shit. Yeah, you can complain that instead of flying helicopters on Mars, we should be doing xyz, and you might be right (that’s a much longer discussion) but this is still impressive. Kudos to the scientists/engineers

That’s gotta be some record for longest time flying a remote control helicopter without breaking it.
