Gee if there was only a way to get people to come work for you that have that experience, but alas that is a mystery on how to do

On the Subaru, I’m reminded of this video where a stock subaru easily beats a bunch of “serious” off roader vehicles:
I have no doubt that the Subaru lacking a couple tons of road hugging weight did it lots of favors.
I have to think that weight is a big factor too. Sure the Cybertruck has a lot of power, but when it’s fighting for traction up a hill and it’s nearly 7000 lbs of truck wants to roll down, the tires and the motors can only do so much.
Looks to me that they never really left the main roads which aren’t much above a typical dirt road. Could probably be handled by any 2wd vehicle with decent clearance.
You can tell the articulation sucks just watching the GIF of it trying to get up that minor incline.
Let us not forget an extra ton or two.
My old Chevrolet Sprint would have climbed that little hill in reverse. Might have taken three tries, but that’s part of the fun.
I think the fact that they are blaming it on the software signals how far out of their element they are. Making a car that heavy with that long of a wheelbase good offroad isn’t impossible, but its not a problem you solve with computers (at least not by themselves).
I agree with everything you’re saying. I have owned multiple Jeeps in my life(two Wranglers, a Cherokee and now a Grand Cherokee). I have some experience off-roading and rock crawling. It’s all about the design and articulation of the suspension that makes the difference in these situations.
Additionally, I think…
Like any other vehicle with an air suspension / off road mode, you lose most articulation when it’s raised to it’s full height. Except the CT seems even worse somehow, it’s like they pump them rigid. Combine that with utterly terrible programming on the traction control and you get a big shiny turd off road.
Oh yeah, dtto. She’s a doctor in my case, really intelligent person with plenty of knowledge I won’t ever have. And still... I don’t get it, it is so childish and blatantly stupid...
In other words, “Wednesday afternoon.”
Perhaps a long scrape along a Jersey barrier into a spin?
This is my partner as well. She’s a professional fundraising development officer. She raises millions of dollars in high-pressure environments. She has to know estate law, liquor and gaming law, tort law, liability etc... She’s a planning demon who can track logistics in her brain like nobody I’ve ever seen; her…
Not sure why they deviated from building the “Japanese” BMW, it was a great recipe. BMW moves a tone of less reliable more expensive cars which means Infinity could of taken a big priece of that action!
Yeah, those original 4DSC Maximas were the Series 3 killers. Too bad they came a bloated after about 12 years.
I suspect it will be much easier to sell Skyline V37 as Skyline sedan and coupe under Nissan badge rather than as Q50 / Q60 under Infiniti badge
“… THIS!”
It’s a fantastic truck. The interior and build quality are definitely one of Tesla’s best.
