Keeping the masses divided benefits ALL of the power-hungry industries and institutions. It’s been part of US culture since the 1800s. Foreign agents don’t need to do the job for them.

I’m a white man who has benefited greatly from my privilege over the years (even if I haven’t always been aware of it) so I know my voice probably shouldn’t be the loudest on this issue, but my god even I’m sick of how many talentless white men have infested this industry I love.

But won’t incels feel threatened and cornered by the presence of females in any authoritative role?

Here’s a clue Mr. Sherriff, you don’t list that kind of shit in the ad. That’s a verbal conversation to have. You’d think he’d know from arresting stupid crims.

Ouroboros Arkansas Edition

I would bet that he’s also a “Constitutional Sheriff”, which is some whacko RWNJ theory that Sheriff’s are the highest law enforcement in the country because of some secret clause in the Constitution.  The stupidest of the stupid, but also the gun nuttiest of the gun nuts.

In a way, though, we’re a little impressed with the audacity it takes for someone in charge of law enforcement in the county to not only illegally modify their diesel truck but then advertise that it’s been illegally modified as if no one might possibly take issue with their sheriff so blatantly breaking the law.

From what I’ve heard, you don’t give a shit if people with asthma or COPD die.

I’m sure, doing something illegal, he’ll be either arrested or fined.  Or both, because we’re a country of laws.  Surely.

Yeah, if you belch all that shit out into the atmosphere your truck runs better.

No doubt qualified immunity will come in to play.

Laws are for the little people.

The reason we’re here is for three reasons:

I think ‘whale economics’ are coming for huge swathes of MTX. Publishers are realizing that there are people who for whatever reason really wanna buy shit, and those people have incredibly low price sensitivity.

If there’s someone who is gonna buy the skin whether it’s 5 or 10 or 20 dollars... may as well make it 20.

im not saying i like it, nor am in favor of it. just pointing out that gaming is a business beholden to all the ugliness of late stage capitalism.

So where the fuck are devs compensations then? The lay offs?

Also your math is bullshit. A 80 dollar game that would cost 181 today also sold to a tiny fraction of the audience games have today.

My company refuses to let me hire anyone in at anything other than the base pay for position under me without getting

It's really dumb. At that price you should be buying a toy that comes with a code for the skin of the toy.

This is such a corporate apologist argument. “VIDEOGAMES WERE 60-70 IN THE 90S, THEY’RE UNDERPRICED NOW!!!” a HUGE part of that 60-70 in the 90s was for the actual physical cartridge that that game came on, manufacturing those things was a huge cost that went down quite a bit with the advent of disc-based games, and

I’ll never understand it personally. Skins are fun enough, but not something I’d pay money for. Since the arrival of horse armor ages ago, I’ve spent money on a single skin - the Pink Mercy skin in Overwatch for which all the proceeds went to charity.

Pricier cosmetics can be fine. The problem is that they were supposed to fund F2P games that didn’t have box prices and support ongoing development in lieu of subscriptions.
