I’ve been eyeing these for a while. I want something fun but need a truck regularly and frequently haul 3 kids and my wife. There are enough mods out there to make them really fun to drive.
Capitalism needs a throttle body to keep it from becoming a singularity. That’s the piece that’s been missing since the ‘80s. Both sides of the aisle kept removing bits that favored their donors or those who would be paying their speaking fees when they retired from “public service.”
I have security cam video of a guy rummaging through 2 neighbors’ vehicles and 3:00 AM, standing in front of my driveway, eyeing my flood lights and cameras, and turning around to go to another house. Video wasn’t clear enough because of the distance, but it was an effective deterrent.

I had an ‘89 Ford Thunderbird that had auto headlights and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Both were clunky but functional. The headlights would dim when approaching street signs.
That and they’ve probably “leveled” them by raising the front end 2-3 inches. Thus, changing the entire angle of the beam to aim directly into oncoming drivers’ eyes. Just be thankful you haven’t seen many with the “Carolina Squat”. That’s a thing now.
That’s not true. The local Dodge/Jeep dealer has lime green, orange, purple, and red among all those others.
^^ This. The lack of dealerships in my rural area are what kept me from buying a “premium” brand. I’m stuck with a choice of Toyota, Chevy, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, Honda, Nissan, Kia, or Dodge.
Last vacation in Puerto Rico the rental agency said I was responsible for all damage to the vehicle if I locked the doors, even if I purchased insurance. This was before the current hurricane and earthquake situations.
Nice choice for those that have family obligations and still want a fun ride. I’ve followed these for a while now and the prices on gen1 versions are somewhat reasonable now.
