Its my experience that cars with an open floor plan, so to speak, kind suck because you can’t use the space. What’s the point of putting feet down there if there is no center seat (that’s a whole other thing) and anything you put down there for storage is just asking to slide all over the place and cause issues. That sounds more like typical overcomplication from a luxury carmaker than an inherent flaw with EVs, though I do still find EVs annoying to use. As long as they keep trying to make EVs as electronics with wheels instead of “just” cars that happen to have a giant battery instead of an engine, I’m not interested in

ehhhhhhhhh a big issue with Rallys and circuits in general, is track/course memorization. Like dont get me wrong, i like change, but i also enjoy hammering the same course 20 times to get on the top of the leaderboards and carve seconds off my time.

Did someone say slide whistle?!

I have literally never understood why manufacturers don’t sell their engines as crate motors. The amount of folks who would buy any of the following is rather substantial:

Unfortunately can’t edit, but I should clarify. The advice I give is for those who have never actually been to a track before. They can take their completely stock car, and have fun pushing themselves (not the car) to their limits. I realized this after having seen a few friends build a “track car” when they

The nice thing about my M4 GTS not having centerlocks and having a stud conversion - I can change the wheels out in about 10 mins tops with an electric impact gun and a low profile race jack.

Interesting. I have a modded M4 GTS that is generally quicker than stock 991.1 GT3s and probably on pace with a well-driven 991.1 GT3RS and I run standard Cup 2s. The GTS is probably 200-250 pounds heavier than the 991.1RS and I haven’t had that issue at the track.

A Taycan 4S recently went across the country in 44 hours, so you’re in luck!

I’ve just realized that one of the reasons the Porsche looks so good compared to all other EV’s is that they’ve always been designing cars with next to no front grille.

because catching speeders is easy. catching drivers texting requires effort, and god forbid they enforce the passing lane only laws.

Sad to see they tried to sell this crap again.

Is Mercedes willing to pay Hamilton hundreds of millions of dollars to land him for another year? Honestly, they should be.

10/10, would pay to see him get beat up by any of the NASCAR drivers that are much larger than him.

If it was made purely to sit in a rich guys garage it would cost more than a million, not less. Somehow actual engineering is cheaper than adding some bedazzling and whateverthefuck.

Now playing

Here’s a Nordschleife lap with last year’s car:

Totally agree with you unless they announce a effort to go racing.

Right now my block I’d say is 50% EV. All of those pulling 40 A during the night is more than air conditioners during the day. What happens when everyone is pulling the high current? Do we have to go to even more staggered times?

Capacity problems are all in your mind. Electric is magic! /s
