Also, PG&E/California has closed the best EV plan (EV-A) to new subscribers and it entirely goes away in 2022.

I retired last year and realized in the past couple of months that I wasn’t driving enough to stay proficient at it.

This was my first thought, too.

I don’t think it’s necessarily the case; there was maybe one or two days where people obeyed the Safer at Home orders in NC and the roads were empty before they just started blatantly ignoring the law...so at least in neck of the woods, people have still been driving the whole time.

Bearing in mind I am only around lvl 15 myself, IMO, it’s a pretty open world. Maybe not as big as GTAV but that’s fine. There is a LOT to do.

Its more that taxes aren’t being used properly. We spent 700 Billion dollars on our military last year. Yet we have spent 9 Billion on vaccines meant to stop the worst global pandemic in modern history. Something does not add up...

can we just take a moment and appreciate porche’s dad joke of branding design by using the front wheel to form the “o” in the porsche slathered across the bottom?

Speaking as a more liberal leaning mind, it drives me up the wall when I see calls for wind and solar.

I’ve carved back my vehicle travel considerably. I don’t go out unless I absolutely have to. So it’s a wild to me that we’ve only seen the smallest dent in emissions growth.”

This just proves how little automotive traffic adds to our global carbon footprint. Yes, it adds some, but there are some major greenhouse gas

Isn’t that what’s become of Jalopnik?

Formula E has never run at Laguna Seca, but I 100% guarantee you a Spark SRT05E could beat a 1:30 there. FE doesn’t really run on any tracks with other series, so a direct comparison isn’t really possible, but based on the times they turned at Marrakech in comparison to the FIA TCR cars that also ran there, Formula E

Speaking of sense and saving the world, it’s good to see the president-elect outspoken in his support of nuclear power.

Exactly. Not on autopilot (for nearly a minute before the crash) and the driver’s foot was on the throttle. This is a bad driver story, not a Tesla story. The only reason we’re talking about it is because Teslas have cameras built in and they capture bad driver behavior and go viral.

I mean he’s not wrong and does fall into the jalop mindset. A 757 runs about $14MM based on ones currently listed and a brand new 737 max goes for $121MM). Even with retrofitting, maintenance and operating costs of an older jet it is still going to take you years to close that $100MM or gap. It’s like buying any old

True, but it’s not very Jalop to then give it the aircraft equivalent of the Pep Boys treatment.

Also, aside from the support aspect, and maybe I’m just paranoid, but I don’t like installing apps from random/fly-by-night companies/importers on my phone. Sure, the permissions might be fine when installed, but who’s to say that doesn’t change in a subsequent update without your noticing or it changes ownership to

I am 100% in the field and find the opposite to be true... the ones i have that were around 30 dollars also make great macro camereas close up where typical cameras can’t focus. Poor angle can be true and sometimes it's like fishing... but i can get it in places where the dedicated units can’t go at all.

I use one on the job weekly... my 18 dollar wired one and 30 dollar bluetooth wireless one are way better image quality than any thousand dollar borescope that I’ve got my hands on. Plus they are much smaller and longer cords.... i can stick them in to brakes through the adjuster and vew shoe life, seaping of wheel

If i recall correctly, most of the wired ones uses the UVC standard meaning that you can use various softwares.

Yeah, but knowing where you have to shove these things sometimes, a cheap Amazon wi-fi unit that you only use twice a year is just fine.  If I used mine more, I’d definitely upgrade to a better unit though.
