These companies do exist in a gray area.  Uber and Lyft should just change their business model to what you describe - a true platform.

People being hollered at is not the same as cars (i.e. deadly in the right circumstances) swerving around. Fuck off with your whataboutism.

Get there early, watch the cool cars come in. Walk around and check out anything else that’s interesting. Get the hell out before the inevitable shit-show that is the end.

That’s a good observation.  The last PCA C&C I went to, I went alone and didn’t know anyone else that showed up (despite being a member of the local region, I mainly use my membership just for HPDEs).  I met a few guys, but despite being very outgoing I was a little surprised at the lack of receptiveness from everyone

I’ve gone to one C&C in my life and I had a similar experience; leaving pretty quickly after seeing what was there. Worst of all was a younger group of car owners that, of course, all parked near one another and then stood around their own cars with their hands in their pockets like the biggest introverts on Earth. I

At Caffeine & Octane in Atlanta, I hear great stories from owners every month. I’m looking forward to the next one this coming weekend!

The ones I’ve been do... people stand around and look at stuff by themselves or with the friends they came with, then someone shows up in either a stanced Mercury Lynx or a lifted Camry on all terrains, then the cameras get broken out. Then the hellcats do pulls at the exit.

We talk each other’s ears off and I at least drink waaaay too much coffee. I’ve made a couple of new friends there already.

Have it. Love it.

Good news! Now the driver’s hands are freed up to hold the roof on.

The car rules, clearly, and it scoots ferociously with one gigantic turbo. No need for twins, the one big one is enough.

That’s never stopped this site before...

Atom 3 are still a blast. Search my YouTube page for Atom and you’ll get some videos for comparison.

I just wanted to say, this was a really solid, well informed piece of writing. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope to see more from you, Anthony!

Scope creep is a real thing and it happens just about everywhere. Same thing with sports where all of the equipment and training has gotten nuts and it’s not longer just something to do for fun.

I’m glad you hit on this. all forms of sportscar racing go through ebbs and flows of participation based on affordability. GT3 & 4 cars CAN and ARE ran by tons of privateers, while the prototype classes are in a bit of a rough patch right now. What the racing world needs is convergence into a single set of rules for

Literally all of them, unless I got the double negatives wrong.

Well, with the realization that of a lot of commuting to an office could be replaced with commuting to the “home office, I think that the commuter econobox is now knock-knock-knocking on heaven’s door-or. People seem to be more gravitating towards fun cars. Like Jeeps, Broncos, offroady trucks and crossovers. Maybe

We won’t post it here for those who don’t.”

I don’t disagree. The biggest issue between Renault and Red Bull for the last few years before RB switched to Honda was the constant pissing match between the mighty egos of Cyril Abiteboul and Christian Horner. It’s not hard to imagine in that an era where the two teams (or three, with AT) are stuck with one another
