I use one on the job weekly... my 18 dollar wired one and 30 dollar bluetooth wireless one are way better image quality than any thousand dollar borescope that I’ve got my hands on. Plus they are much smaller and longer cords.... i can stick them in to brakes through the adjuster and vew shoe life, seaping of wheel

If i recall correctly, most of the wired ones uses the UVC standard meaning that you can use various softwares.

Yeah, but knowing where you have to shove these things sometimes, a cheap Amazon wi-fi unit that you only use twice a year is just fine.  If I used mine more, I’d definitely upgrade to a better unit though.

These companies do exist in a gray area.  Uber and Lyft should just change their business model to what you describe - a true platform.

That’s a good observation.  The last PCA C&C I went to, I went alone and didn’t know anyone else that showed up (despite being a member of the local region, I mainly use my membership just for HPDEs).  I met a few guys, but despite being very outgoing I was a little surprised at the lack of receptiveness from everyone

At Caffeine & Octane in Atlanta, I hear great stories from owners every month. I’m looking forward to the next one this coming weekend!

The ones I’ve been do... people stand around and look at stuff by themselves or with the friends they came with, then someone shows up in either a stanced Mercury Lynx or a lifted Camry on all terrains, then the cameras get broken out. Then the hellcats do pulls at the exit.

We talk each other’s ears off and I at least drink waaaay too much coffee. I’ve made a couple of new friends there already.

Scope creep is a real thing and it happens just about everywhere. Same thing with sports where all of the equipment and training has gotten nuts and it’s not longer just something to do for fun.

I’m glad you hit on this. all forms of sportscar racing go through ebbs and flows of participation based on affordability.
