A "scam" by definition does not include any force, but "trickery." I would like to see how these videos will consume $160,000.

I understand producing a smaller, more compact PC for use in the living room as opposed to a clunky looking tower... but $1000 in order to be super small is not important. People are willing to put much larger devices in their living room, such as a big stereo, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS3.
I typed it out after doing the research. I've been done with college (post-grad) for over 7 years. And I have a great life, thanks.
That is embarrassingly disgustingly shameful for the human race.
Don't confuse the concept that it was purposeful backlash with any sense of support for the backlash — the language used was inappropriate, and as mentioned, even criminal in nature. Crude, for sure.
The "scam" is in reference to the $160,000 kickstarter to make a few YouTube videos. Were you unaware of that part of the incident?
Yes, which is why it's so disappointing that they fell for her bait, hook, line and sinker. It should have been transparently obvious to them why they were spamming their forums...
Of course, there will always be people who say crude, inappropriate things. If you intentionally go to where you know these people are, and then intentionally say things you know will get them to respond with threats, what do you expect to happen?
No, but you can scam people into giving you money. The threats, while inappropriate and even illegal in many cases, were intentionally antagonized — they were a planned and purposefully executed part of the campaign.
It's important to remember: this is a hot-button, somewhat controversial, emotionally-charged issue. We can't let those things detract us from the truth.
Also, Kotaku needs to stop the stereotypical and transparently obvious "male white guilt trip" angle. It's pathetic, and does *NOT* lead to equality. It's no better than the ridiculous "color blind" movement in the 90's, which apparently thought just ignoring everyone's racial background and pretending it didn't exist…
Anita Sarkeesian purposefully antagonized and generated the backlash against her in order to gain publicity and raise more money. There is evidence that she is using these videos to "scam" unsuspecting feminists of their hard-earned cash. $160,000 for a video series that contains numerous inaccuracies and seems of no…
82 seconds and not a single second of actual gameplay.
So I've noticed. The stereotypical "straight male white" guilt trip, and feeling the need to go out and try to act like you're supporting equality. Transparent, of course. The harder you try to be "equal," the more you focus on the very things that breed inequality.
You're asking if it's supposed to be an "8 minute sprint" ? No offense my friend but you obviously have never sprinted if you're asking that.

As others have mentioned, we have to take a stand and REFUSE to purchase any and all games that use Always-Online DRM. I'm sorry, it doesn't matter how much I want a game, I will no longer buy these games. For obvious reasons, too.
My wallet is open and eagerly awaiting the release date.
With $160,000, how is it that she made such an obvious and clear error as stating that Zelda has never been the hero of her own adventure? First off, she'd be a "heroine," and secondly, yes she has: Zelda - Wand of Gamelon on the CD-i.
A company is developing the "hardware" that is designed to let you "play Steam games on your TV" ?
