I agree with you that FFVII is not as good as people make it out to be. I'd rather play FFIV, FFVI, FFIX, FFXII, or even FFXIII-2.

It wouldn't be possible without emulation or re-coding the games. Attempts to have software to automate re-coding have mostly been failures, and it would not work. The architecture is just too different. That is why an Xbox 360 can pump out the graphics it can for such a lower price in comparison to PCs — the…
Sounds like you messed up and are backpedaling. Whatever, I'm done with this silly argument.
The Vita is doomed. Nintendo is doomed. World of Warcraft is doomed. PC gaming is doomed. The Wii U is doomed. Sony is doomed. The world is doomed. The universe is doomed.
Sounds like you didn't read the title to the post: "REdiscover."
Sounds like you either aren't a PC gamer, or haven't used mods before in your games.
Lightning is not that interesting of a character. She really didn't do much nor change much throughout the story, and I'd much rather see a focus on Serah or Sazh.
Ultimately, you'd want to put together your own computer. You can get a more powerful machine for a cheaper price. Find a friend who knows how if you don't, or go to Newegg and get one of their package deals (CPU, motherboard, RAM all come together). Plenty of YouTube videos to help you get it setup, as long as you…
There is no such thing as "hardware-free." No matter what avenue you choose to release a game, it will bring limitations. No software is capable of running on all devices that can in theory handle the data load of that software.
Right. Even if it does have any staying power, do we really think that Angry Birds is going to replace Skyrim, CoD, and Assassin's Creed? I think not!
Given how most social & mobile games are much simpler, easier, faster, and cheaper to make, it's no surprise there are more of them.
I like the article in general, but I think it made too many assumptions that you are like the author and want to buy games like the author does.
Still not interested, still don't care.
I actually meant subscription-based MMORPG rather than free to play microtransactions. But even then, it appears I'm quote wrong. There are quite a few subscription-based MMORPGs that have more regular updates.
That looks more like "Romaji" style spelling versus just "American English" spelling. As you probably already know, Japanese has no official English transliteration system. There are numerous "romaji" standards, and many Japanese celebrities omit letters or add latters.
Not sure if they promised it at the time, but Blizzard is the only company I know of that has a successful MMORPG that has constant, regular updates and has been doing them for an extended period of time.
That's not exclusive to Japan, of course!
I don't feel that the change in setting and backstory would have significantly affected the franchise. People like it because of its gameplay and accessibility.
Awesome, that's good to know! It would still be disappointing though if someone put a lot into it not being able to read Japanese, and then wanted to transfer that character to the NA version — I figure that will be impossible.
I'll actually have to disagree 100%. I think you're looking at it completely wrong. Everyone has their own pace that they play games at. Not everyone is free to play for 8, 4, or even 2 hours a day. I know a busy guy who doesn't want to quit gaming, but is working more than full time with kids. He games for 30-60…
