Yeah, I think that last sentence hits on why I'm feeling lukewarm on it so far.

Still trying to figure out how I feel about this album as a whole, but I'm loving "Ponytail."
I love Angel Olsen but Mothers just scratches a different itch for me. It's like if Angel and The Jesus and Mary Chain had a baby that listened to a lot of Sunset Rubdown.
Totally worth it. I'd probably leave early, though.
Top 5 right now:
Mothers - "It Hurts Until It Doesn't"
Mitski - "I Bet On Losing Dogs"
Moonface & Siinai - "Them Call Themselves Old Punks"
DM Stith - "Sawtooth"
Angel Olsen - "Shut Up Kiss Me"
The new Angel Olsen or Nick Cave may end up surpassing it, but right now my album of the year is When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired by Mothers. Holy shit, is it good. Damn, The Knick is so slept on. That's a shame.
I'd probably join a cult led by Hugh Dancy, too.
The words "feminist neo-noir" make my heart leap. So excited. And thank god for Caroline Siede, I was worried that we were only going to get Oliver Sava reviews for this.
If they somehow managed to create an adaptation of HoL, the only person I see playing Johnny Truant is Rami Malek. I reread the book recently and I pictured him the entire time.
Wait, who are these "good writers" that the show had? I don't remember that.
The Peel session version of "I Break Horses," for me.
But it also aired on E! which is… yeah, okay, that's pretty scuzzy too.
He is, without a doubt, the best part of this show. Looking damn good with that scruff, too.
Her presence in any movie is a reason for me to see it, personally. In addition to being a really talented actress, there's something so raw and magnetic about her. When she's on screen it's kind of hard to look at anything else. She actually reminds me of Gena Rowlands in that way. She seems really cool and funny in…
