It’s a nice thought, but I’m doubtful there’s any way to make a tour “beneficial” to the planet. I would guess that you could only strive to make it “less bad”.

Capt. Marvel? Resident Evil (love me some Milla Jovovich), Hunger Games’ Katniss, Aliens w/ Sigourney ...? There’s been a few more than you note.
one or two female action franchises...
No Tom King at all? Nonsense.
I’m not surprised she’s conflicted. She’s among the group of actresses whose careers survived Weinstein, and she’s attributing her Oscar win and her career in part to him. I imagine this is highly personal to her and as much as people don’t like the idea, some of these victims are having to work this through in…
Normally I'd love the opportunity to take the piss out of Paltrow but I think I'll pass just this once. If you haven't had the misfortune of having someone important in your life revealed to be a wolf in sheep's clothing consider yourself lucky.
This is a really bad take, considering she was one of the biggest names to go on the record about her experiences with Weinstein, propelling that story forward in its infancy. Saying she has some mixed feelings about him because he propelled her to massive stardom and wasn’t an actual movie villain 100% of the time…
I don’t know, Paltrow was lucky because Brad Pitt stepped in and protected her from Weinstein (if we’re to believe that story where he threatened Weinstein, and it does seem to be corroborated). I don’t think she’s in denial about Weinstein, but she also understands how instrumental he was in making her a star while…
I like The Last Jedi. I don’t even mind the concept of Leia’s spacewalk. It just looked cheesy as fuck.
Some of this commentary doesn’t make a lot of sense. Like the idea of them taking fantasy elements out of the show. Except for some of the esoteric backstory and lore, the show is about on par with the books. One thing which distinguishes ASOIAF from most other fantasy series is the paucity of supernatural…
She’s genuinely one of the most compelling actors on the show and there are a lot of great actors.
“I didn’t realize that the internet would remove context from everything”
We did it for Gunn. It just seems when a Woman or Black Man sincerely apologize they usually haven’t done it hard enough.
I agree with you but we can’t just let Sarah slide and no one else. If you’re about redemption, it needs to be applied across the board. If we are doing this just because we like Sarah, that doesn’t hold up.
I appreciate the angle the showrunners are taking with Yolanda and Arthie. Bisexuality was not a common identity at the time. And there were people in the gay community who viewed people who identified as bi with suspicion. It was such a struggle to be ‘open’ about one’s sexuality, that I think some might have viewed…
Did you see the story on EW that the stories were the actresses actual family backstories that the writers used. They even put in names of their relatives caught up in the historic horrors
That’s more or less how I remember it, too. Everybody, myself included, seemed pretty happy with it at the time. But we were all saying, “You know, it’s too bad about Jar Jar; the movie would have been better without him. And what’s up with the midichlorians thing? I didn’t get that. And why did they shoehorn C-3PO in…
I’ll be in the minority, but I actually liked the Sam/Justine stuff as it in a lot of ways felt like a logical contiuation of Sam’s story. As he begins to struggle with his mortality, he is able to see his daughter become something better he ever was. The way he handled the heart attack was actually for me one of the…
All these years later, I still say one of the biggest indicators of the film’s problems (and it’s general approach) was that Jar-Jar turns the tide of a major battle with a prat-fall. Comic relief shouldn’t be used to resolve plot points.
