Yeah tactically that scene didnt make as much sense.  Seems like she could have started out 30 seconds sooner and just torched 50-60% of the line and then the Dothraki would just have to mop up the stragglers and enjoy the spoils.  Instead she burns everything of value and probably loses a lot more of her own people.

In retrospect, he should have gone the Lost route and started with Dany landing on Dragonstone, and then having everything else lumped into flashbacks or backstory sections. The tangents are interesting one-offs but the GRRM is clearly reluctant to drop any thread once he touches on it.

Opposition to letting the wildlings south of the wall made sense to me, even though I know the audience is supposed to side with Jon. The Wildlings call themselves “free folk” in contrast with “kneelers” because they’ve never obeyed any political authority. Every time they’ve come south, they’ve just raided (we saw

My first thought when seeing the massive army marching into Winterfell is how the hell they are going to feed everyone and what are their supply lines. Daenerys is just like, I dunno.

Lots to discuss, but how about that new credits sequence, starting with the broken Wall and ending with the Iron Throne? That set a great tone for this final season.  I watched it twice before even starting the episode.

You do know she crucified hundreds, burns people alive (Khals and Tarlys), uses a slave army, abandons people of Slavers Bay, supports human sacrifice religion fanatics ?

Glad to hear she’s doing OK. Seems like a sweet, bonkers (in a good way) girl.

And a more than decent actress when the material is good enough. Particularly when the dialogue is in Valyrian.

“Sometimes The Onion hits a little too close to home.”

“The battle of Blackwater is also notable for setting the bar that all future Game Of Thrones battles have to top ... It’s a big, big, big fight that is defined by the small stuff the characters do while not fighting.”

Only downside for me is that my kids’ public school doesn’t allow homemade anything

I read the book fans’ complaints about how the show has diverged and is cutting away plots with a chainsaw.

I admit, I only watched the first two seasons of the show. At that point, it became clear that the show was eventually going to outpace the books, and I’ve been a fan of the series since there were only three books—I didn’t want to see the ending before I read it.

‘It’s hard to imagine satisfying anyone if you spent millions of words and over two decades solely to tell us “people suck, and then get eaten.”’

The problem is that the Premier League is a separate entity from the Football League (which runs the lower leagues). The Football League wants their topmost division (i.e. second division) to not come across as second best. Hence Championship, then League One and Two.

I could just about cope when they went Premier-1-2-3 but since it’s been Premier-Championship-1-2 I just hate everything and everyone.

If she wants to talk about how she could beat all her opponents up in a real fight, I feel like the WWE is left with no choice but to sign Holly Holm and have her crash the party without telling rousey

Iwan Rheon had already established himself as a cracking young actor well before he was cast on Game of Thrones.

The poster’s broken promise of a Dragons vs. Apache helicopters battle royale over London still stings me.

I haven’t seen Mandy, and I remember more scenes from Kick-Ass than I do from half the Marvel movies.

I think Caroline does a great job here pointing out the films positive aspects and what makes it work, and the flaws and what makes it not work.

Its obviously, eye-rollingly absurd. The whole movie is a screwball romantic comedy that is built on the most ridiculous of premises and coincidences. What if Andie HADN’T
