Hey we were lucky to get MTV at all. It was banned by my town for several years. I had to watch it scrambled or go to a friend's house in another town to see it until 1988 or so.

To his credit I think he was making the connection between giving up Finn which allowed the alliance to happen and the subsequent betrayal of that alliance during the attack on Mt Weather. To wit: never trust grounders to keep their word.

Seems more Trump than Bush/Cheney. At least Bush stood up and made a distinction between terrorists and Islam after 9-11.

Pike's rationalizations make about as much sense as Anakin's in Revenge of the Sith.

It is unreasonable for a couple of reasons.
1. The copyright system was set up to encourage new art, not to enrich licensees for decades and decades.
2. An economic system built on artificial scarcity where you do not control the means of duplication just does not work.

Which is why it is so disappointing that the show went the expected route when so many times it has avoided these stunts.

That was my example too.
I also gave up 24 at the end of the first season when they killed off his wife. I think I was just pissed that the actress had been on TV the day before talking about season 2 so I was VERY confident when I told my wife that there was no way she was going to die.

That is exactly how I felt after they killed Kellie Martin's character in ER. I ended up watching a few random episodes after that, but that is when I knew the show was done and I stopped watching regularly.

When supply of something is infinite, you have to find an alternative means of monetizing it. Artificial scarcity only works if you control all aspects of the duplication process. I am not making a moral argument but an economic one.
