That’s great. After his appeals fail, and he’s convicted on more federal charges, Trump will pardon him. And the Republicans in Congress will continue to protect him.

Just a reminder: if Trump pardons Manfort to keep him from snitching, nothing will happen. Impeachment is a political tool that doesn’t actaully require that any crime, or specific act have been committed. It is, for all practical purposes, a thing the House can initiate whenever it feels like it.

Well, I’m glad the judge declared a mistrial on the rest of the counts because they won’t be subject to double jeopardy. The judge was a total assface for this whole trial, and I cannot imagine that his (often inappropriate) remarks and rebukes to the prosecution had no impact on the jury.

As someone who grew up in “coal country” I can honestly say that there’s not a chance in hell that thermal coal (what you burn to produce power, which is cheap, low grade bituminous or worse, lignite) will see any sort of resurgence due to this proposal. That said, your statement that:
