I mean, someone will always have the highest rates, but this is a utility which claims to make no money, but the private entity that owns them sure makes a shit load!  There is a lot going on here to get to those high prices that really need to be changed.

7.5 billion just isnt a lot of money and if it goes to improving our grid at all, its more than worth it.  Interested to see how many stations and chargers it will end up building/providing.

Infuriating CA has that hold on insurance carriers but tells the utilities that they can raw dog my wallet.

Lying to your insurance carrier is a great way to be denied coverage. Who loves to deny coverage? Insurance companies.

How?  Seriously, how?  I’m in CA and they’ve gone up at most 5% since COVID.  The mile usage on our cars is checked annually by GEICO to be under the 10k miles per car.  We’ve seen almost no increase.

I truly dont fully understand how this thing is road legal. The side panels, in a front end accident, will knife their way through a person/car like they are nothing.

Hubris is a wild thing.

Not to toot a horn for an insurance company, but Geico has been as good to me as an insurance company can be for the last 15 years here in CA.

If they can control the costs of insurance, why do they allow the utilities to go buck wild and bareback on my freaking wallet?

On a whim, We looked at pricing for a PJ for our wedding down in Cabo in 2019 and were shocked that it was so close to being an option at all.  It was still too expensive and too hard to coordinate people staying the same amount of time, but it was much closer in price than I was expecting.

Best take right here.

Oh, the ones that fly over my house multiple times a day (MCAS Miramar)?  Cool cool cool.  Thankfully they have a pretty good safety record, from what I understand.

Very important information left out! Thank you!

Theyre not going to say since they were all very likely covered under warranties.

Haha yes, exactly! For how many new cars are sold per year, you would think that would almost always keep the average in a range like 4-6 years old.  Interesting.

Thats crazy that the average car is 12 years old.  I feel like that has to be skewed by limited amounts of much older cars or something.  I just find that wild to believe.

Unless you are into cars and specifically EVs, many people dont know WTF a Rivian is.  My buddy that has one though, loves his and it appears to be an awesome truck.

And I wont buy one that doesnt.

I feel like its moving fast enough and with very good numbers to show for it. Too much speedy movement means a lot of “older” tech in a space that is seeing leaps and bounds in improvements every week. Let the grid improvements and tech/battery upgrades happen as they allow for the increase in EVs that clearly arent

I am very excited for the EX30 and it quickly became the most likely first EV I buy.
