IIRC, there was a movie about a terrorist attack that was supposed to be released in late September 2001, and.... they shelved it, because releasing it then would’ve been deeply insensitive and traumatic. One would think that, if you had a “pandemic thriller” movie that had was in early stages of development this

Yeah - I really thought, after this year, we’d be done with pandemic apocalypse stories for *at least* a decade. If not a generation.

I think he was last seen on Boba Fett’s ship, but my guess is that Cara Dune took him in to custody along with Moff Gideon.

They’re cloning the Emperor, yeah? I think you're overthinking this.

Alternatively, she just watched a guy single-handedly waste a zillion murdery super-robotswith his laser sword, and it turns out, surprise!, it’s that Rebellion pilot guy from a few years ago, and she’s like “what the actual hell is going on???"

Yeah, I think Rogue One made it clear that lots of people in the SW universe believe in the Force as a religious/spiritual thing, without having any connection to the Jedi or any ability to use the Force. It’s not surprising that they might say “may the Force be with you” as a generic blessing.

They also announced the Asoka series would be December of 2021. I think these dates are just a guess at this point.

Keeping him so stiff and still helped to hide the badness of the CGI, but every time his face moved, it looked like they tried to animate a painting. It was still worth it, I think. I can suspend disbelief about dodgy effects, they're not the end of the world. But it was dodgy.

It may hurt them a little, but not nearly as much as AMC or Regal. The experience at my local Regal is basically inferior to watching a movie in my living room in almost every way, other than that my TV doesn’t have surround sound. Pre-covid, my partner I would routinely drive an hour each way to see a movie at the

Most of the movie was centered around getting to know Poe and Finn and developing their characters, including that Canto Bite stuff.

TLJ was *all about* the triumph of the human spirit. It deeply rejected cynicism, and depicted that everyone can change the world, no matter what their origins, and that hope and the future and power can come from something as small as a small slave child telling a story.

I don’t know about *thrown the trash*, exactly... but it also definitely didn’t bother to continue much of any of the character development that TLJ was so deeply focused on. It was like they went “okay, we handled all that character development stuff in the last movie, now lets just do a bunch of pew pew laser

Honestly, every time I’ve seen someone explain the plot and thematic reasons why they loathed TLJ and thought it was the worst Star Wars movie ever, it immediately became clear from their explanation that they fundamentally misunderstood the plot and themes of the movie.

Yep, this. And this is one of the reasons why both were the best films of their respective trilogies. A lot of people are still caught up in their “but it did something unexpected and I didn’t like that!!” feels, but give it a few years, maybe a decade, and Last Jedi will be uncontroversially regarded as the best of

I don’t think this article was glorifying this - I think it was pointing out the enormous hypocrisy of the fact that society paints this kind of behavior as entirely harmless and basically a mild eccentricity when certain people do it. But when other people do exactly the same thing, it’s treated entirely differently.

I have a feeling my great-aunt could build a canoe or shelter, because she just... does stuff like that. I definitely know she can build a skateboard halfpipe out of wood, though that might be somewhat less needed in the post-apocalypse, lol.

Eh, I think a lot of that is intentional helplessness, though. Those guys could do a lot of those things before they were married, they just chose to stop being able to do them anymore after they had a woman who would do it for them.

Wow, that sounds really interesting. I hadn’t heard of this book before, but now I’m going to have to check it out

A nail tech is a person who does manicures etc professionally. They work with chemicals that may be dangerous.

I’ve gotten two, one with a female doc & the other with a male. They both just told me to take Advil. Though the female doc was at least more gentle/sympathetic - the male doc acted like my pain was inconveniencing him.
