Also: Spidey, Dr Strange, Bucky, Maria Hill, Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, Wanda, etc. Marvel basically killed everybody but the core original Avengers line-up and Rocket and maybe Ant-Man, which leaves not a very diverse group.

Yeah, I was like “cut off his hand already!” when they were tugging at the gauntlet.

My only real disappointment with this movie was that we didn’t get a scene with Spidey & Shuri meeting & geeking out. Those two would hit it off like a house on fire! They’re both huge nerds with a lot of enthusiasm and snark and awkwardness and silliness.

Yeah, I bet Shuri will be able to bring Vision back with what she was working on, maybe missing some memories and/or powers. Loki might be back in some form; he died and was reincarnated in the comics maybe 5-ish years ago (and became a sort-of good guy in the process and joined the Young Avengers). Dr Strange

I dunno, I think Shuri might be able to do, like, a partial data transfer from the work she’d done, and save Vision (but maybe without his memories).

Or set up a way, in the future, for the Avengers to travel back in time to fix everything. I was wondering how they could do it with Strange & Wanda dead, but that would explain it.

I expected it to be catastrophic, but somehow not for it to be so... personal. The kids sitting next to us in the theater were clearly totally unprepared, though, and gasped or went “oh no!” every time anybody got hurt or killed.

Could be, though based on comics precedent, the Asgardians could reincarnate. Even if they’re all dead, we might still see a new, more “chaotic good” version of Loki come around in a little while.

I think she’ll have been in space. Presumably her movie will explain.

Man they suck. I started clapping, and a few other people joined in, and I could hear whispers in the theater “what’s that?”

I’d seen enough “this is definitely part 1 of 2" comments that I figured something catastrophically bad was gonna happen that would take time travel to fix, but it was still surprising just *how many* they killed.

Well, it sucks that people have said that to you.

A glossary would’ve helped for sure.

I find it odd/interesting that people say that about Asian men, because I’ve known a number of white women that are ALL ABOUT Korean or Japanese guys. I think this is one of those things where women’s actual sexual desires tend to get downplayed culturally in favor of what men imagine that women desire.

ISIS wasn’t totally non-capitalist, FWIW. I read an investigative article the other day by a journalist who went to Iraq to gather organizational documents that ISIS left behind, and what they found is that ISIS raised capital largely by 1) leasing out the seized property of non-Muslims (of course they defined

I’ve seen some screenshots of posts/comments from incel guys saying, basically, that they think the government should force hot women to have sex with them. So.... I wouldn’t be too surprised by that, honestly.

Eh, these guys think of themselves as having low social status and value, so my guess is that they mean a woman that they also perceive to have low value or social status. Like... “if she’s willing to date one of us, she must be desperate and ugly, and that doesn’t count anyway”. Ugh.

So maybe it wasn’t an “evening gown” in the formal sense, so much as “a dress for hanging out in in the evening?”

Ok. So they may have shelled out some money for him, but they could’ve had some other, not-famous guy look amazed. My point is just that “super speed” and “super strength” can be depicted in ways that aren’t necessarily very expensive, compared with some other superhero powers that exist, like flying or a dinosaur

Yeah, but that would require, like, money ;). A prop tire that doesn’t actually weigh very much is a much more cost-effective option.
