Astronaut ice cream is freeze dried. I thought it was really awesome as a kid, but I’m not sure if that’s because it’s actually good or because it had an astronaut on the package.

They had lots of photos of it on their twitter, for whatever that’s worth.

How about the ACLU? I’m not sure that that’s normally the kind of case they take, but like every third ad on my Facebook feed is them asking for donations so they can be ready to sue the Trump administration (ugh, still not used to that).

I think that some folks at Fox are not really happy with Trump either. Though... I just saw an article saying Fox is firing some of their people, including George Will (who quit the GOP when they nominated Trump!). So maybe they’re trying to stop the dissent in their organization.

I don’t know how to embed tweets on my phone, but Fox’s twitter feed has lots of posts showing the size of the protests and Trump’s low favorability ratings in the polls. Also lots of more conservative/partisan stuff, but they did have those things too.

There are always, always people willing to talk to WaPo, Politico, etc about what’s going on. With his alienation of the civil service, it’ll probably only get worse (or better, depending in your perspective!).

They don’t live in the DC area, do they?

There was a Politico(?) article I read recently talking about how slow Trump & Co have been in nominating sub- Cabinet level appointees, using some inside sources. It mentioned completely in passing that, according to an aide, part of the reason for that is that they didn’t expect to actually win.

Not if he continues to bash and pick fights with the same people that would be carrying out those “accidents”.

I dunno. We have much stronger democratic institutions and history of free speech than Russia did. I agree that he’ll probably try, but I think it’ll be much harder for him.

What if he crosses the line into slandering dissenters?

There are already Trump supporters calling for protest to be declared a form of terrorism and for protesters to be thrown in jail.

I’d have agreed with you a few hours ago, but 1 million+ people in the US protesting today, everywhere from DC to Denver to Birmingham to Anchorage, has made me feel a lot more optimistic. I think a lot of people just needed a wake-up call.

At least Michelle Rhee has relevant job experience. She might be pro-charter schools and anti-tenure, but she’s also been a teacher and the DC school superintendent. DeVos has no experience whatsoever. I’d take Rhee over her any day.

Hate to break it to you, but nobody that has $3 million sitting in the bank is middle class. Your family members are upper class, among the top 5% of Americans who have $2m+ tucked away. The typical middle class American household is worth $50,000-400,000.

Well, give it a few years.

That is the most wonderful charming letter. What a class act. President Obama, you’ll be missed.

Lots of guys care about their diet and talk about it, a lot. But usually it’s about eating more protein and less junk so they can be stronger and healthier and look like Chris Hemsworth. I guess admitting you have a medical problem and *can’t* eat certain foods makes guys feel like their masculinity is undermined.

Okay, so I checked out that Heritage Foundation plan, and they do have a way to cut $1 trillion/year from the federal budget - make massive cuts to Disability, Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security survivor’s benefits. Cutting PBS and arts programs and stuff is just a smokescreen for that.

I went and looked at the Heritage budget this idea is based on, and after a huge list of little cuts, they explain how they’re really getting that $1 trillion/year cut - by gutting Disability, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Social Security survivor’s benefits. Surprise, surprise.
