Lots of venues, even other theme parks, handle reentry by stamping your hand or putting a wristband on you when you leave.

That’s the least cost-efficient way of going about it, too. Even if the school expects parents to cover the cost of basic classroom supplies, they’d get a much better value by buying in bulk and asking the parents for a check.

I had a bear who was a little past the cub stage do that in the Smokies once.

Boomerang gets caught and the court orders him to go to Supervillains Anonymous meetings as part of his probation. Hippo is one of the ex-villains at the support group. XD

That sounds fantastic and a really good approach.

They weren’t wonderful for me, but the hardship taught me a lot. I feel pretty confident that going to college at 12 would’ve been worse.

The average school district probably couldn’t. But there are schools for gifted kids out there, and it sounds like his parents have plenty of money.

That seems like it could be a good approach, if she can take more challenging classes while still getting to spend time with peers and do normal high school stuff.

There’s introvert, which I am too, and then there’s not learning how to interact with peers, to navigate social situations, to form relationships, etc. There are important life skills this kid may miss out on.

There are actually college programs aimed at gifted high-school aged kids (Simons Rock, etc), so sending your 16-year old (never mind 12-year old) to a regular college seems like an odd choice to me. Like you’re almost intentionally stunting your kids social development.

Yeah, agreed. If they can afford to send this kid there, they should be able to afford to send him to a school for highly gifted kids closer to his age, where he could interact with peers in a more socially appropriate way.

Thanks! That is actually very helpful and interesting, though the degree/diploma distinction raises even more questions for me. ;)

In the US, at least, insurers are currently required to provide free birth control. Thanks Obama! </not sarcastic>

And those people are morons.

Heck, I’ve had some pretty yummy vegan tacos that were like some marinated grilled mushrooms and some kind of vegan crema and cruchy veggies.

Papusa trucks.

Then what is the purpose of a college, if it can’t give you any kind of degree? Why do people go there? What do you study there? When do you study there? Do you study there after high school? Instead of high school? After university?

You were asked what a “college” is in your country, since you’ve said that where you live, it’s neither secondary school nor university-level education but some other thing entirely that we don’t know about. You refused to answer and said that people were being assholes for asking you. Your reaction is, frankly,

From what I read in another article earlier, food service and medical/hospital use of these chemicals is specifically still allowed. From what I read, it sounds like triclosan etc is very effective if you, say, spray it on a surface and let it dry for an hour or two. Just not if you rub it on your hands for 30 seconds

The article I read about this earlier today said that triclosan is actually pretty good at killing germs, it just takes something like an hour of exposure to really work, which is why it’s useless to put in hand soap. But if you’re spraying it on a surface and letting it dry (i.e. as part of cleaning a hospital room),
