Except if you listen to the guy talk about making movies he isn’t trying to make a metaphor. He wants to be the next Michael Bay; any social commentary in his movies are just an accident.  He was super excited that a bunch of immigrant camps were brutally cleared out by the government so he didn’t have to make any

“Now, some Christians are upset about a show where a fallen angel does the good thing and teams up with another angel and some humans to stop the antichrist from destroying the world.”

I can’t wait for Hobbes and Shaw to come out... so I can stop seeing the trailer.  Pretty much everything Fast and Furious related is an intelligence drain attack.

I’m mildly torn, because I love classic Godzilla movies for the monster fights, but other than Gojira, they don’t have much in the way of brains. I’ve been told there are a bunch of easter eggs for fans of the series, which is almost tempting me. Plus there’s the cast, as you mentioned.  But it all just feels like a

I’ll have to keep an eye out for this. Stories about making stories are something I really enjoy. Watching “Talking Head” is one of my favorite experiences.

Or people remember that the last one, by the same people, was boring and dumb, so they aren’t going to get fooled again.

What was the Japanese movie? I love Asian cinema; my favorite movie of the year so far is Shadow.

You’re supposed to be disgusted.  I didn’t like the movie when it ended, but by the time I got home my opinion had changed.  It was thinking about Oswoldo’s speech about justice requiring an impartial juduge, jury, and executioner; and the fact that we don’t actually know that Daisy did anything wrong.  All we ever

From your user name I was hoping for a more imaginative punishment.

I got carded to see Rumble in the Bronx in 2001 on my 25th birthday. I got carded picking up a ticket for BlacKKKlansman last September, “Because it’s rated R”. Both times it took me a couple seconds to comply because I couldn’t believe they were asking.

I was worried about this the first time I went to an Alamo.  Just last week I went to a “Hopped up on Cinema” event where they gave each attendee a flight of beers, with the final glass a full sized pint.  Not a single peep during the showing.  The problem isn’t booze, it’s people in theaters that don’t have an

Yeah.  I was really annoyed that while 2017 was the 30 year anniversary of Final Fantasy none of the online shops had a version of it I could download and play on a modern system.

Or, Palpatine isn’t actually in the movie. There were soundbytes in trailers for the previous two movies that weren’t from the movie itself.

You should probably have put “US” somewhere in the title for this. Red Dwarf has some huge gaps between seasons, but has never actually been cancelled and is the BBC’s longest running series. It’s on year 31 now. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something else globally that’s been around longer than that.

Mine is my 2002 Final Fantasy desk calendar, which is functional again this year.

I’m a Gen-Xer born in the mid 70s. Few of my friends had children immediately in their twenties; most waited until their 30s when they had established careers, and their kids are only around 10 or so. That being said, I also don’t think they’re likely to take their kids to see a live action Tom and Jerry.

I’m probably an outlier and in a weird place as a potential customer for them. I’m tech savvy, but the only streaming service I’ve subscribed to (and only recently) is Fandor because they have a bunch of foreign or indie stuff that doesn’t get Region 1 releases. I’d rather be able to watch what I want on a whim,

He’s also one of the women running out of the ladies room at the club when Tom enters to argue with Verna.

I’m hoping to get tickets at the local Alamo.  That place has ruined other theaters for me.  I keep thinking “Why are you animals still making noise!” whenever I go anyplace else.

I’d rather use my PS4, which is already hooked up to my TV, to stream something than a laptop or pc. I’ve got enough systems plugged into the TV that it gets annoying having to decide which one to unplug to plug in a Chromecast or HDMI cable. I also don’t really want to watch movies on a smaller screen when I’ve got a
