I think I could identify with the woman in Hush a lot more. I’m not deaf but I’m sometimes alone in remote places (our old cottage was on an island and I was there alone sometimes). Whereas I really couldn’t relate to people breaking into a clearly very dangerous house. It’s not that I couldn’t sympathize with them

I actually like movies that are slow and boring but Pretty Thing took it to the next level, boringness-wise.

I really loved how It Follows made me frantically scan the background of every scene. And I also really loved the oscillating fan trick in PA3. I really dig that sort of thing, it seems.

There is that one gross shot at the very beginning on the beach. But that was it, I think.

That’s partly how Jian Ghomeshi got away with his abusive ways for so long. He pretended to be a feminist. I hate that fucking guy.

I’m French Canadian and we don’t kiss hands. That is straight up bullshit.

I thought the kids were really great in IT. And I knew most of the shooting locations which was fun, but yeah, it wasn’t scary, just really loud. The jump scares were SO LOUD.

Same here.

That movie is so heartbreaking. I just can’t ever watch it again for that reason.

Ugh, the rapping boy was the worst. THE WORST.

I really liked It Follows but I get why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

I went to a pool party with the author of the book “Pontypool”. I have a very glamorous life, as you can imagine.

My sister and I saw the lead actor from Pontypool on a flight one time and my sister said: “Hey! Pontypool!” and he was super annoyed at her. But that was kind of rude of her so I get it.

John Carroll Lynch was so scary in that movie. How can he be so lovable in Fargo and so utterly terrifying in The Invitation and Zodiac?

My parents are generally pretty reserved and tend to only like “clean” comedy, but they both absolutely loved the Trailer Park Boys. We would watch it as a family. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Lahey. *sniff*

“Mr Lahey, is this you or the liquor talking?”

I got to meet him when he and Randy did a stand-up set at the small community college I taught at. It was great. I even got to give perpetually shirtless Randy a tour. What a sad loss.

I do not want the snow. DO NOT WANT. I live in a ski town so this is heresy and I mostly keep it to myself for my own safety.

I like when my husband goes away on business, too. It’s nice to have that space and the time to miss each other.
