Have you considered an IUD? I just replied to SaltedCaramelTart that I absolutely love mine. Although apparently the insertion can be really painful if you’ve never had a baby vaginally before. So that’s a big drawback. But otherwise it’s really great.

Me too! I got a stomach bug on vacation with my boyfriend (now-husband) and my friend found out and said to me “DID YOU THROW UP ANY BIRTH CONTROL PILLS?!?!??” Because it turns out that she conceived her second after that sort of thing. Her kids are super close in age because of it.

I’m Canadian and violent crime is down here as well (and has been on a downward trend for years) and our last Prime Minister was very pro “Tough-on-Crime” and wanted to build more prisons, institute harsher mandatory minimum sentences, etc. When one of his ministers was questioned about building more jails…
