uh... good for you?

I know that people love to be gatekeepers with respect to manual transmissions, but how long can we keep making this argument when the base 911, Corvette, etc are no longer offered with a manual. Should hot hatches really be held to a higher standard than true sports cars?  A manual enhances certain experiences but

Surprised I had to go this far down to see VQ or RB26.

RB26

? the gladiator is easily the best looking truck in the last 15 years because the bar is so god damn low, let me guess, you like the new silverados?

Especially if a portion of that fee goes toward the purchase if you get one.  I mean what’s there not to love about that idea?

I don’t think people like going to dealerships. But they do like shopping. And I agree with them. Being able to look at, touch, and drive the car (or cars) you’re shopping for is pretty important, as long as you’re not the kind of person who just “buys the gray Camry”.

The rest of the experience, the dealership part,

That part of the dealer experience isn’t bad. The bad part is when you go to the stupid little glass office and watch numbers dance on paper and know they are trying to rip you off.
Then you go to a deeper office and the pages upon pages of legalese designed to deceive is shoveled in front of you.  And for some reason

I would hope that being smart about it would include WEARING A DAMN MASK. I don’t think any other country has turned mask-wearing into a political argument. Research is consistently showing that it is effective enough.

Really you need a showroom, not a dealership.  Sales can still be done online in conjunction with showrooms and/or dealerships.  Some people like to find the exact one and buy in person, other people want a basic idea then order their specific one online.  There is room for both

Just be smart about it.

“Be smart about it”, by which you  mean, I assume, that if a bunch of cases are reported in a workplace, that workplace should probably be taking a bunch of measures to make sure it doesn’t spread further, by maybe closing down for a brief period, disinfecting everything, and allowing those with cases to get over

I explicitly used the “$400/mo  headline” because folks outside of our core readership are more likely to click on that rather than “Nice cars you can get for $21,000"  but I do go to explain how I arrived at that number while keeping a reasonable loan term.

Before we get too excited is it possible that it will be smaller displacement turbo motor with the same HP as the current offering but more TQ and better mileage. We’ve seen a bunch of manufacturers do that.

And it’s on a Mazda 3... THREE... THUS, Half Life 3 confirmed!!!

I would argue that to be a proper GTI/Si competitor, it definitely needs an LSD, and ideally a manual transmission.

Great news! The chassis could definitely handle more power, and if it’s going to have the same output as what you get in the CX-5 turbo, then this thing suddenly turned into a GTI/Si competitor; but with a much nicer interior.

Acura did a good job with this one. I like it, already on my list for next car.

This seems like a rare morning shift consisting of just some good stories and write ups instead of multiple heavy handed “fuck this aspect of the auto industry/the world today” with the writer playing some sort of angle, and its extremely refreshing. As a regular, I sincerely appreciate it, even though it might not
