My question is: "why some people think that being fat is ok?"
My question is: "why some people think that being fat is ok?"
We know what this is. IG is using so-called 'regular ' guys to patrol their 'community standards'. So of course there's nothing wrong with 'Hot Model chicks' exposing all or 'Thin Young Girl' undie pics. But be outside of the 'norm' and you're getting shut down. They don't want to see anyone above a size 2, or a…
Did she basically say that we have to start spreading more pro-US propaganda? I'm a Hillary supporter, but this sounded odd to me.
I find it fascinating how Americans start gearing up for the next election cycle halfway through a president's term. It's not even his last 12 months in office yet, but everyone acts as if the current administration doesn't matter anymore because something different will come, y'know, in the future. And then the…
I think the risk of kidnapping isn't anything worth bothering about. I think the risk is that the kid ends up hooking up with a group of 12 and 14 year olds who are too mature for her.
Yeah, apparently. I love the person who told me I was a shitty 9-year-old the most. Thanks, person on the internet!
The disingenuousness of you people is tiresome.
That's not what anybody's saying so, spare me.
Agreed. I am seriously not understanding the commenters. There is a lot of "we" were left alone anecdotes: we being two kids, whether siblings or friends. Or, they were left alone at home, in a private house with a locking door. This, on the other hand, is a 9-year-old without a buddy in a park. I'm not thrilled with…
A couple high-profile kidnappings and murders of young, unattended children in the 70s and 80s changed parents' perceptions of safety really fast.
I agree so much. I mean yeah some kids are too overprotected now but it's not as if everyone was playing outside 100% safely in the streets while singing Kumbaya.
According to the "I was pushed out the door at 8 years old to play and not allowed back in the house until I was 16" brigade of commenters around here, NOTHING would have happened to that girl except she'd have found a well of confidence and independence sorely lacking in children today.
Agreed. If something happened to the kid—like she was hit by a car or went with someone to get lunch, people would be less forgiving of the mom. You can feel sorry for the mom's situation, but that doesn't mean it's ok to leave a 9-yr-old alone where she has no one nearby.
1) The headline is needlessly sensationalist. It makes it sound like the mom let her kid play in the backyard by herself while mom worked inside or some shit. Or that she let her daughter ride her bike around the neighborhood for 30 minutes.
What's really upsetting about this story is that it's happening at the same time as reproductive rights restrictions. So: Don't have an abortion, don't have access to birth control, but once you have that kid, child care? You're on your own.
Okay, so, it's kind of ridiculous to arrest the mom, but it is NOT okay to leave a nine-year-old alone for hours without supervision.
It's kind of cute that you think that. Here in reality, the militarization of police is becoming a rather serious issue - and no, the average drug offender is not Pablo Escobar with an army of colombian mercenaries wielding AK-47s waiting to re-enact Scarface.
Oh just fuck off. The only thing you are an expert on is being an unlikable prick. Congratulations.
Conjecture? Do you want to perhaps watch video of the confusing, chaotic, and dangerous methods used by SWAT teams? Of how fast a lethal situation unfolds? Or do you perhaps think they're simple things that are easy to comprehend as they happen? Pay attention to how confused the victim in that second video is - he has…
There are, in fact, several instances where civilians have shot or otherwise attacked SWAT teams busting in their homes for no reason and not only surviving, but going without legal punishment because it would be anybody's first instinct to defend yourself from masked men with guns busting down your door. While I'm…
