Great article, more in depth stuff like this please.

that’s one thing Harriot seems to miss a lot, I don’t see a lot of agreement amongst minorities about the whole “defund the police” movement(which really is a confusing slogan, and I agree with Will Smith’s recent comments regarding it) many don’t support that slogan or abolition.

Agreed. Mind you my comment was not meant as a slight against Black people in general just the fact that ‘Black People’ are not a hive mind. Unfortunately, conservatives have become excellent at convincing people to vote against their own best interests, and move the needle increasingly to the Right. And that’s

I, unfortunately, have to agree. It’s crazy to me that in Atlanta of all places I see nothing but a sea of white faces at a John Lewis voting rights rally. The solidarity is surely appreciated but we also need our people to demonstrate more motivation and activism ALL THE TIME, not only when it’s convenient or getting

I’m black as they come, but some of this is just incorrect. You talk about the unbearable whiteness of the Democratic party, and then proceed to demonstrate that it’s real by posting a bunch of polls about what all white people think.

Black people aren’t collectively progressive enough to help themselves. Point blank.

The poster child for Progressive America, AOC, just changed a No vote to Present (because of political pressure) on a bill to give millions of taxpayer dollars to support a genocidal regime when that regime has billions of it’s own money to spend.

A lot of ‘black immigrant’ stats here as if it is a monolithic population group. I’d recommend that you reconsider the treatment of black immigrants as a collective group, as this obscures differences between immigrants from different countries and the ways they adjust to life in the U.S.

On the bright side of things, this bad look was able to draw a statement out of our VP, and border czar, Kamala Harris:

The problem has never been public opinion in general. The problem, at least in my state, is that the people who want to see Roe overturned vote in every fucking election, and the Texas legislature is dominated by lawmakers who only need their votes.

I’d like to think that anyone with two brain cells to rub together can understand that the type of radical organizing that has the potential to actually create meaningful change does not occur with the endorsement of any corporation.

Tired of reading about them in English no less!

(please forgive me, i’m not sure exactly what the correct way to say this is)“

The correct way to say that is “Another Flight Attendent”

Well, when you’re wrong, you’re wrong.

And hey, you’re probably making double any of us schmucks are making so it’s a win-win for you!

which is an aesthetically fascist tradition dating back to 1928".

I love Naomi Osaka, but, for her own sake, can Jez dial down the extreme hagiography a few notches?

If you tell me “I’m comfortable with ‘she’ or ‘they’” that tells me I’m allowed to call you either. If you want me to alternate, that’s fine, but you have to clarify. I don’t see how they disrespected her wishes by calling her something she claims she is comfortable with. That’s not misgendering.

No! It’s on us to read people’s minds (or deep dive their Instas) to first know what pronouns they prefer, and also to know which are to be used in different contexts.

I feel like this was a miscommunication. Halsey said, “She/They”, so Allure assumed “she” would be fine. I don’t think this was an intentional slight, but perhaps I’m missing something.
