I only run 87, except if I can find 85 🤫. I took my outback down to sea level on a tank of 85 with no problem. I wonder at what compression it becomes necessary to go higher

Not to be a virtue signaling 90s kid but I regularly listen to tapes in the car and at home. As a matter of fact I have one on now... They’re a great collectors item and just feel right. The best part for me is the immediacy that they start with. Start the car and immediately come out and play by the offspring is…

Nobody talks about it but beam style ones can often be refilled. I have been successful with refilling bosch clear advantage but I bet lots of them are built the same way

I’ve recently been investigating this too, and found that beam type blades can be refilled as well. Specifically, I have been successful refilling my bosch clear advantage blades with generic refills I bought off eBay for $1 a pair shipped.

I could do that in my mom's 97 grand caravan

Golly, that's worth about $2500. I was sure this was gonna have a jdm twin turbo swap for that price. The phase 1 ej is less reliable and less powerful than the single cam that followed it.

Dingle ball hone without removing the engine. The carbon buildup will protect the pistons. You can thank me later

Same, but damn it I’ll try anyway

Hopefully Subaru will offer an option pack with a sewage tank and 7 catheters to create the true road trip king.

Fuck off, just because we have less money doesn’t mean we should be excluded from Jalopnik. Self rightous piece of shit..

If the check engine light doesn’t terrify people into taking care of their cars, they’ll mid level issues persist for years and start to do permanent damage. Joe public needs to see the engine as a box of magic and the check engine light as the gate keeping wizard, or America’s hooptie fleet is going to be out of…

Friggen Outbacks and their p0420s...

My dad had one until last week. You certainly couldn’t call it boring, it caught fire after only 3 months!

This article is about climate change, and the primary greenhouse gas that cars contribute is carbon dioxide. It seems to me CO2/mile should correlate almost entirely linearly with mpg, assuming complete combustion. Care to explain?

No eating in the car unless road trip rules apply. Hard to say no to a cup holder burrito on the open road.

Hmm, I just replaced my front brakes on my 00 outback after just under 30k miles. Granted they weren’t wearing evenly, but that would only afford them an extra 10k. Your numbers are pretty surprising

all fingers and toes crossed for the legacy gt wagon, we sure need luck in regards to that

Nobody dares mock this titanic construction because we’re all hoping it makes enough money to fund a next gen wrx hatch.

Agreed. We don’t have any reason to believe there’s something afoot aside from them being Chinese. Huawei appears to have been given a leg up as they have employed sketchy business practices in the past with little consequence, but nothing suggesting that they are spies for the government.

The users of the early internet weren’t immensely representative of society. That’s been a more recent occurance. While it is easier than ever to parrot a crackpot theory, I don’t believe that’s what this is. My point is it’s more recently that we’ve been having these discussions because of the maturing of the…
