I’ve believed this for the longest time, but never had the data to prove it until this week.

I don’t know if the bumpkin (“Mr. Chandler?”) guy started off his first interview this way, or if the filmmakers just made a poor choice to lead with it, but in the episode he’s introduced I think he begins by calling himself something like “the unluckiest son of a gun you ever did see, boy howdy!” After that, it…
My thinking was they could just do a documentary on the razor industry and what a ripoff cartridges are. “BicBillions”
IMO Frank and Heather were the worst. Him for being a massive dork who still believe Jerry was some kind of Goodfella’s badass and her for enabling his thinking.
This might have been the most padded docu-series I’ve ever seen. If this is HBO’s way of trying to imitate qualities of Netflix, it’s their worst one. This story could have been a tighter and more satisfying four 30min episodes.
I see what you’re saying. Hank knew he didn’t deserve the “win” but since he’s aware of that fact, it’s a sign of his instincts. Fair enough.
I love the episode, particularly because it does a great job of taking a seemingly innocent hobby and delving into a really dark aspect of it. It’s now become a trope to do this, but back then it was a really great framework for keeping the audience from getting ahead of a story.
Who are you, Raylan? You don’t have to browbeat the guy.
Well played. As usual, the winner of the comments is in the gray.
The vast majority of the scenes show Gus to be an incredibly ideal boss, though. Other than the Lyle situation, Gus behaves in a manner that is incredibly straightforward about what he wants. Even when he was lying about the Cousins holding the restaurant hostage, Gus offered his staff therapy and time off.
Lyle wants to be district manager.
Hank doesn’t get enough credit for being a really good cop with really good instincts.
I looked it up and Jesse finally paying for what he did would have been a much more satisfying, honest ending. Sorry. The dumbass is going to get caught eventually, I would have enjoyed seeing it.
They sold it to Netflix. Duffy starts a riverboat casino in Harlan Co. by towing one into a swamp. It’s called “Wynn’er Take All” and it’s streaming now.
I love how every AVC article now has to include no less than two paragraphs of commentary about how female characters and actresses in the item are portrayed. Even regarding a show about hatred toward an ethnicity that has suffered an attempt at genocide is the fucking plot point, “yes but really matters is what about …
Hillary beat herself.
Based on the article you’re commenting on, it sounds like the Madrigal character may come to understand this.
Interesting background on that guy. Before show-business he worked for the family business and his job was to basically go into companies and fire / lay off people on behalf of the other company.
