I’d love for a day to go by without hearing about this guy.

Likely the Labor pool is tapped out elsewhere

They’re not “Neanderthal.” They’re strategically smart. Let the other OEM’s crack their teeth on the technology, (which is almost completely outsourced anyway) make their mistakes, find their way through, while you come in later on the backs of other’s efforts. Being first is not always the smartest play, and

My dad talked about the 10 years from around 72-82 where there was a step change in pricing on every thing. I think we are going through that now.

And already the, “If it affects performance or engine note? No thank you.” comments are out in force.
ie I’d rather have my child, or my friend’s children grow up in a filthier country where our children suffer more from a variety of diseases and neurological deficits all so that my car can go Vroom Vroom louder and

The closest comparison I can think of is the Euro Mustang V8 stayed at 435hp when the ‘Merican version was bumped to 460hp, with Ford giving one of the reasons as the GPF.

Or if you drive a sedan.  At which point, every single SUV out there has it’s headlights pointed directly at your face.
