That may be the case very far in the future, but I don’t think it’ll be that way for a long time. At least in the US, there’s so much wide open space and expansive rural areas of the country. I don’t think we’ll see serious penalties anytime soon.
Some cars look better in certain colors, but I for one would like to see more fun colored cars on the road. Black, silver, white are usually boring on normal cars.

You usually don’t have access to electricity, but I’ve known people to use regular storage units as garages. They’re usually clean and secure and generally pretty cheap to rent.
As much as I like thinking about making an IC engine work in space, I think the best bet is electric dirt bikes. The Zero DS is a good starting point. Just wear a ruggedized space suit that can take some abuse in a fall and you’re good to go!

I’m sure it’ll be a hit, but I can’t get really excited about it. Part of that is because its a crossover/SUV, but mostly its because its expensive. I’m admittedly not Tesla’s target market right now, but if Elon Musk is so dead set on electric vehicles being the future, I’d like to see more electric cars within range…
It rained during my MSF course and I’m quite thankful for that. I got to experience locking up either of the brakes several times. It was kind of alarming, but since I got to immediately apply what had just been beaten into my head in the classroom, the training stuck.

I kinda of get why some people don’t ride up here in the Midwest, where it snows. A bike will only be a 2-3 season vehicle, so most need a car for the winter and the bike gets relegated to toy status.
Some bikes may not get that great fuel economy, but a lot of bikes do. My Buell Blast averages 70mpg whether I’m putting around town or cruising at 70 on the highway. No its not super fast, but its still a lot faster and a metric shit-ton more fun to drive than a econobox

I’m not surprised. From my own experience working in this field, the better design doesn’t always win. Politics, lobbying, money, and current contracts all play into the game.
