I've not spoken to anyone who liked BH/KJA Dune, either. And when I recommend reading the Dune series, I make sure to specify Frank Herbert's Dune, and nothing else. BH/KJA Dune is mindless and cliche scifi schlock and the only link to the real Dune novels are some names.

Seriously, I've always found his lack of respect for other's art abhorrent. I happen to rather like his ben-day dot style and the idea of emotionally powerful single-pane comic excepts, but why couldn't he credit other artists? Or, I don't know, be creative and make his own?
