I hold the same distinction, and generally try not to use AI to describe true machine intelligence. I do think that current AI research could lead to human-level machine intelligences, even if not intended.

Oh my. I do hope the acting has gotten better than that promo.
I always thought American Gods had the perfect setup for an 8 to 10 episode HBO/Showtime miniseries.
I have long pondered the ethics of programming the Three Laws, or really any such restrictions, into an honest effort for an AI. If we are truly trying to create a human-level machine intelligence, could we justify behavioral restrictions? If we tried the same with human, it would be called brainwashing.
So, those with the extension will probably be the only ones to see this, so it's a good thing that you're who I'm trying to talk to. If you're using the blueTunic extension to make commenting bearable again, make sure you let Kotaku (and Gawker Main) know it. Every post I make from here on out is going to end with a…
The problem is, that isn't what intuitive means. Now you're more familiar with it, it's easier to use. If the system was intuitive, it wouldn't take you all day to get used to it.
Wait, why is his definition the relevant one? I'm not saying mine or yours or the Pope's definition of art is more relevant, but shouldn't we all try to use a more largely agreed upon definition, such as one in a dictionary?
Ooh, does this work for other things, too?
Mila Kunis. A wonderfully attractive Ukrainian woman. But then again, I have a weakness for dark-haired eastern Europeans.
I thought it was a fun ride, but it didn't make any sense while watching it and made even less sense after thinking about it. Also, scary? I never got scary out of it.
I'm an accountant. I work with accountants. We all dress the same way for work every day. We do not all think alike.
The last one is precisely a trick. You tricked them into leaving their money undefended.
Because everyone who thinks the same way wears the same types of clothes and drive the same model of car. Good to know.
Is there something wrong with Kansans? In the future, please refrain from insulting whole populations based on your biased preconceptions. For every nut you can name from Kansas, I'm sure one could be named from wherever you are from.
Wait, we Americans call it Fahrenheit? I played it as Indigo Prophecy and thought it was the rest of the world that got Fahrenheit.
I thought it was Ivan as well. So don't blame yourself too much.
Do you agree with the opposite of that as well? That the only people who don't want to see hot under-dressed men are either jealous men or gay women?
I suppose I haven't delved into the universe outside the original trilogy and Reach, so I am only familiar with ship names from there.
But why name your super-awesome new breed of ship something so dull? I could understand if all the ships had pedestrian names. but the only thing that makes the name Infinity unique is its utter blandness.
Precisely. The names of Halo ships conjure imagery and provoke questions. What is a pillar of autumn? Who, exactly, is clad in amber?
