“First off, the motivations don’t matter”
This comment is better and more comprehensive than io9’s coverage of this story so far.
Remember how racist Shogun World was before the episode ever aired?
Third, the “we should not be allowing people” bit sounds like some real Orwellian shit, and I’ve had enough of that over the last few days.
Reprisals from Disney seems the most likely answer. Getting blacklisted by the Mouse would be bad news for this site.
> Gunn, who directed the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films, was let go by Disney when offensive tweets of his surfaced from several years ago.
I think you should crowdfund your own, improved version of the poster.
Imagining that a “campy sci-fi film series” wasn’t also a production of narrative consistencies from its creators, that followed a framework so that the story within flowed well...is not a good look on you. Perhaps then I’m glad I ruined your childhood?

So every person that appeared on this show has the brain power of Ron Burgundy?
I, for one, would like to offer my thoughts and prayers to any 2nd Amendment people that were harmed during the filming of this.
“in the end we played each other and I confirmed what I feared this was all about.”
It’s pretty common practice to have people agree to their pictures being used before and after the picture being taken. Moral Panics. Aren’t they fun?
TIL: Ryan’s a conservative.
“pictures of “scantily clad female students” doing field research.”
It’s not about “teehee boobs!” or “How dare he!” it’s about not wanting someone else to decide my morality for me sight unseen. All I have right now is a bunch of people describing a situation that sounds pretty defensible “Herpetologist shows slides of women wearing bikinis while doing marine research.” and then…
