Does it count if I listen to audiobooks? Cause I read about a book every two weeks then. Otherwise I'm in that group that hasn't read a single book.

In all honesty, even people who say they are religious lives life as though religion is irrelevant to them.

Words have... meaning. You should use their meanings. It makes communication easier. You can't say that something is binary then say it has three states. If something is binary it is either a '1' or a '0'. A 'Yes' or a 'No'. You can't say that something is binary if it is a 'Yes', 'No', and 'Not applicable'.

Here's what they need to do to Star Trek: Get rid of all the camp. They need to make the universe more realistic. You don't send out the captain or the XO in a shuttle on a survey mission in hostile territory. Your security team doesn't walk down the hallways with their weapons still holstered when chasing a hostile

That was my problem with it. When it is episode 4, and we've already encountered the Borg and the Ferengi, it is pretty clear they were giving the finger to all of trek history.

IMO no. Flipping back and forth between belief and disbelief isn't a superposition of the two states, it isn't a third state. For example sleeping is a binary state. You are either sleeping or you are not sleeping. Even though you will sleep at one moment of your life and not sleep at other moments, at no point are

What you are talking about isn't number 4. It is number 2. God communicated poorly on purpose.

Who on earth ever claims to have a source of perfect infallible information?

Gnostic is from the greek word gnōsis, meaning knowledge.

The dates in the charts are from history. The dates you are using is from myth.

However it doesn't stand to reason that a perfect being would communicate so poorly that he is so thoroughly misunderstood. A perfect orator would be able to be understood regardless of the imperfections of their audience.

Your words have been marked.

Did you miss the part where these are two separate evangelical groups? And they are arguing with each other? So clearly not everyone shares the views of the Cornwallians?

What exactly is more important than thousand or millions dying when their island nations get swallowed up into the sea, or changing weather patterns cause massive droughts and famine?

Cause evangelicals took a dump on all of Jesus's teachings and then used the bible to wipe it up.

But it is fun. We are on io9 here. A site dedicated to geekiness. Geeks will argue just as vehemently over tiny little details in their favorite works.

All they said was science doesn't tell you what you should do. It only tells you the best way to do what you've decided should do. A large plurality decides what they should do based on the christian bible.

Perhaps, but the bible tells people to believe in god and to use the bible and faith as the sole sources of information to base their actions on.

Do you believe that God had the capacity to make creation in a different fashion? Or was this universe the only possibility?
