No one is in a prison camp, they just can't physically associate with the rest of society in crowded conditions, because they've shown that they don't give a damn about the rest of us and are willing to put other people's lives at risk in their refusal to behave responsibly. The government isn't putting its people

#2 "OSIRIS-REx" unmanned space probe to an asteroid. Useful, but the author's comment "this mission might just be important for gathering data on the makeup of the asteroid—just in case, perhaps, we need to blow it to smithereens" is pure bunk. That's how Hollywood would get rid of an asteroid, but in the real world,

That would be like, while living in the 1700s, arguing that it would be beneficial to start drilling for oil. Because in another 50-100 years we might develop the metallurgical processes and engineering processes to invent an engine.

Wood is the best. It makes things taste so much better. I don't really like using chopsticks because they are more difficult than a fork, but they do make the food taste better. Especially sushi.

Nope. It is due to magic. In the gif above, if you hit the ground and stopped while traveling at that speed, armour or not, you'd nearly liquify your internal organs inside your body.

Some people are just incapable of changing their mind or admitting they are wrong.

What part of "I've never met anyone with that opinion before, please explain it so that I can understand it better." Is juvenile and defensive?

I'd say that if you "can't stand" something, it more than just sucks. You need to learn the difference between an opinion and experience. When I say "Everyone I know either loves it or gave up on it before climbing the learning curve" that isn't an opinion.

Also, if you type out a word and press space it will add it to your dictionary. There is a setting that will change the behaviour so that it will ask you before adding it to the dictionary.

Can you do that with swype? How?

Is it the same as on the desktop windows 8? If so, swype bloody pwns it.

Did you actually bother to get over the learning curve? I've never heard of someone use it and not like it. The only people I've ever seen not love it, is the people who type out a word or two, don't look at the tutorial, don't learn any of the shortcuts, then say that it sucks.

dcmidnight wasn't saying that this thing has no value. They were saying the OP had no business comparing the predator to this. To use your example, it would be like saying that the military is wasting money on expensive assault rifles when pistols exist.

But there is hope. Local school district trustee Scott Burnett, possibly the only reasonable person left in the entire universe, has

First off,

Well, chrome on desktop - the Google site rather - has instant search, so the results already pop up as you type. This would be wholly superfluous, no?

Consider why you're doing it.

Go for it, it flew over my head :(

Getting defensive is when you misinterpret something <innocuous> as <something offensive>. So people misinterpreting <advice> as <fat shaming> isn't more specific than getting defensive. It is a specific example of getting defensive.
