The best way to think of it is that each team is an independent entity with the ability to play in several regional (and local) tournaments as well as their own league play and friendlies. The more games means more revenue and viewing options for fans. It basically the opposite of the regimented layout of the NFL.

Well, I know it’s going to be easy to criticize this guy and everything he did but, in fairness, I think he did a great job directing Argo.
