Ive been so scared and depressed about what the outcome of this election could be. Assuming all goes well, baby and I are going to Cub Shrub in the short north tomorrow to get her a “The Future is Female” onesie.

Just commenting to say that I too have a The Future is Female shirt and I plan on wearing it after I get home later. I think I would be harassed if I tried wearing it to work today, unfortunately.

I have a friend who has worked polls since she was 18 and I can’t imagine why anyone would volunteer for that job. Your polling people have been working until 8 or 9 at night to make sure everything is ready for today. That is ON TOP of a full time job for any poll workers who aren’t retired or permanently working for…

I thought about my own grandmother, who was born before the passage of the 19th Amendment and only just died last year, at the age of 98. She wouldn’t have voted for HRC, I don’t think - she was a dyed-in-the-wool Republican - but she was a tough, smart lady who would have loved to see a woman on the presidential…

The poll workers in my area are all from the neighborhood. Hard to be mean to the guy you see at least once per week.

Our poll workers were so lovely! People were thanking them for being helpful and kind, and they thanked people for coming out and voting. It was a lovely island of decency and goodness.

Omg I hadn’t heard that he said that! That’s horrible. He should get into some kind of trouble for encouraging voter fraud.

My dad is a poll worker in Bucks County, PA and it can be rough. In 2014, someone pushed my dad over and he cops were called.

Man, I’m surprised that people were jerks to the workers. Usually people in Columbus are pretty chill (like you). I hope it wasn’t too cold while you were waiting outside that early!

The thing Trump said about vote again even if you voted by mail already... Like I knew he was a dick, obviously, but he didn’t think about the thousands of poll workers who have to deal with the fallout from his paranoid bullshit.

I cannot fathom being a poll worker today, especially in busy/battleground areas, and I say that as someone with over a decade of retail experience. Bless you and your kindness.
