Blood banks should take your blood any time, drive or no drive. But there are limits to how much you can donate in a period of time (they don’t want to drain you dry, after all), and it’s possible you hit your limit the last time. Still, in that case the blood bank should’ve told you that you weren’t eligible instead

We used to pay people for blood, and it didn’t work that well.

a unit from apheresis platelet donation can yield approximately six times the number of platelets compared to whole-blood-derived platelet donations

The raw material is free, but the testing, storage, and transportation aren’t. That said, there is a lot of opaqueness in the blood market, and the participants — from blood banks to hospitals — can do much better on that front.

Is there another blood bank you can go to? I don’t know how it works, but the Red Cross is apparently not the only blood supplier out there. Also, if you have non-O blood, blood banks should still be happy to take one of your components (such as platelets).

COVID put a damper on blood drives. Our local blood bank (which is not the Red Cross) has multiple donation centers scattered around town, and they take blood all the time, drive or not. Check to see if you have one nearby.

Could be a central tire inflator, too.

The Second Amendment is the only one that matters to them.

I don’t think @potus was ever banned or suspended; that would probably be a parallel to allowing MTG’s congressional account to remain active. However, I don’t know if Trump ever tried to spew his COVID and election lies on @potus (it’s hard for me to keep up with his shenanigans) or what Twitter would’ve done if he

nasty calluses that would take a cheese grater to grind off.

The dumbass actually typed the capital letter O (“oh”) instead of the number 0 (zero) for the score. Does he actually think the letter stands for something other than a shorter way of saying “zero for two”?

The farther up front, the better. Put’em right on the bumper.

It’s on the dashboard, 4 o’clock from the steering wheel. In the video, it’s hidden by the bulky center console. I lightened up the photo for clarity. You can see the lock / unlock icons on the fob.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Any type nerd will be able to tell immediately that the movie’s title is set in ITC Serif Gothic, which wasn’t released until 1972.

It’s a demonstration of how quickly people who are deep in their own prejudices can jettison their previous stances when they hear anything inconvenient. They’ll proceed to grasp at any straws to keep their own misguided beliefs afloat.

The best part: Bill O’Reilly had to console Trump after he got booed.

This isn’t surprising at all. Here’s a CNN clip from March. Skip ahead to 2:04. (https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2021/03/18/tuchman-vaccine-trump-biden-coronavirus-vpx.cnn)
