I’ve got no problem paying more for games if the publishers would commit to that money going directly to higher wages for the developers.

Yep, the last decade or so we’ve seen old men so disconnected from reality, who are also in major positions of power, say and do some incredibly baffling things. It’s never been 5d chess and it always explainable via Hanlons razor.

That there’s no way that they could be this clueless over how this was going to received.”

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a company so thoroughly come out of nowhere and shoot itself in the foot as hard as Unity has.

agreed. i’m tickled happy that kotaku is doing some real reporting. I’ve contacted the california AG about this.

I blame XIII and XV turning people off to the mainline games than XVI. Fans who gave XVI a shot were generally happy with it.

Square Enix is such a baffling company to me. They control two of the most treasured brands in the Japanese games space, have more money than God, and a legion of skilled workers, but they’ve had this air of being totally adrift for nigh-on ten years now.

So they expected this announcement to tank the stock, but they did it anyway?

These people should not be in charge of money, or anything else.

“They just have the absolute most insane expectations. They could have shipped through to literally half the PS5 global install base and still been disappointed.”

This. Absolutely this. The eternal “arrow must always go higher” mentality that forces astronomical goals is such a damn cancer that even games that are

I’m still gonna give props to the live-action movie of yesteryear, because it’s WAY hard to adapt a full series (6 books) into a single 90~ mins movie. Lots of things must be cut in order to warp it up in the correct timeframe, while respecting the original vision of the story.

Really hyped for a full series that get

They massively increased base damage by 40% to compensate for the reduction in vulnerability damage as well as buffing frozen damage and the stats on equipment (except weapons which got a stat nerf). The complaints were overblown, just because X Twink spec doesnt work anymore, they achieved what they set out to do in

Your joke is wooshing over a lot of people’s heads here, who I can assume didn’t actually read the whole article lol

I can give a report of my Wife and I, at least. We are in this 30% for sure...

I mean, even before the whole Cavill kerfuffle, S2 fell off a cliff. I’m not sure a ton more explanation is needed than that. I liked S1 more than I expected, thought S2 started really strong but got so much worse throughout that by the season finale I had more or less written the series off, barring some sort of

Its never been a very good show, with the news that the guy holding up the show is leaving isn’t gonna bring in views.

I enjoyed S1 and S2 a lot. I watched the first episode of S3, and it completely soured me on wanting to watch anymore.

The editing, acting, and direction felt terrible. It wasn’t engaging at all, and I don’t know if it gets better, but I don’t really care to continue watching.

Not the same thing. The NFL game doesn’t do a bait-and-switch on you and instead trots out two curling teams. FF16 advertised well in advance, that this was an action focused title. I saw no bait and switch.

I don’t know that it is divisive, at least not by the majority of people (or at least not that that’s the right word). I’m not saying it’s not a Final Fantasy game or that Final Fantasy games can’t be action-y, I’m saying I like old school turn-based JRPGs and this isn’t that. I’m skipping FF16 in the same way I

Nobody should have to convince you.  It says “Final Fantasy” on the box. It’s Final Fantasy. Period. That you dislike it is irrelevant to that fact.

As a huge XIV fan, the fact that I can see so much of it in XVI (the demo at least) is such a good thing.
