There’s an easy way everyone can wi in this: bring back cheat codes. Level skip/unlock everything. Boom. problem solved. I miss cheats.

I feel like this would be really hard to implement, especially in some open-world games that don’t necessarily have properly defined levels, or where missions can occur contextually based on your actions in the rest of the game. Like... how would this apply to Fallout 3? Although I suppose in that game the only real

Yeah, I’m Black and my hair moves. Why do people think Black people hair doesn’t move?

I know that complaining about things in articles is easier than actually fixing them by making your own art, but I did read Evan’s article, and that is my advice to him.

If you can’t expect a group of white males to portray other people accurately, your opinion of white people must be extremely low.

It’s not OK to make racist caricatures or insult another race. It’s also not reasonable to expect a group made up primarily of white males to always accurately represent what it’s like to be someone that is not a white male.

I loved Assassins Creed Liberation for one reason it had some game mechanics I liked like the disguises that give you different abilities. But also it gave you a good look at what New Orleans was like at that time. Also as you pointed out it was interesting reading Aveline’s mother’s letters and seeing how she

He mentioned indie developers, and nebulously explained that “black people won’t congeal together to make games, probably,” but he didn’t explain why he and his friends couldn’t make a game, right?

Thanks for your follow-up post. I didn’t want to insult Evan, but I didn’t want to patronize him, either. His problem has such a simple solution, I felt silly putting it any other way than I did.

Evan, do you know why games don’t show black people the way you wish they did? Because not enough black people are making games for that to happen. Instead of posting thirty page articles on how games don’t feature your favorite hairstyle often enough, get a group of your black friends together, and make fucking game.

Hair is hard to do in videogames, this has nothing to do with finding the “proper hair”. It’s even harder when you try to have different hair styles apart from the straight down or short wavey look (since game characters mainly have those hair styles).

I really love the Commander Cash commercials!

At the risk of bringing social justice stuff into this; you know that's not actually true, right? Someone compared the mean for women with the mean for men, without taking into account piddling little factors like the fact that women and men tend to choose different careers.

In the framed for murder episode, they use a functionally identical lie detector...on a politician. It registers everything he has to say, even when he's actively trying to lie, as precisely 50%. The tech's theory is "welp, he's a politician".

But what if they tried to buy things with a man's money? Clearly, we need separate currencies!

He totally stole their fridge.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they liked PRIME DIRECTIVES.

I still love Time Trax. You're never going to talk me out of that.

ROBOCOP: THE SERIES was awesome. It was in many ways a more legitimate continuation of the original film than the movie sequels were. Sure, it was comical, but the original film was a comedy-satire itself. Sure, the violence was toned down, which was only appropriate given how popular Robo was with kids; but if you

Too bad something like this will never happen again:
