Humongous should've given the Best Man Speech

*long sigh*

In 1829, with a squeeze on burial space in the capital, architect Thomas Willson proposed a pyramid mausoleum to hold up to five million bodies. It was to be fitted with steam powered elevators and would charge admission for visitors to help pay for the construction!

It would've been taller than St Pauls!

She was part steam-engine, all woman.

Gus Grissom???

I see your sideburns and raise you an Asimov

The Bono and Gatland book Frontiers of Space contains some terrific concept art from the WWII era right up to the pre Space-shuttle ideas. For some reason the big idea at the time was Single Stage To Orbit.

"Now I'm sure you're wondering why our brave Commander in Chief needs to be kept partially suspended and under 24 hour guard in a secure bunker on a remote moon... Well it's the only way to get a sense of perspective and give us the best chance of a pyrrhic victory!"

PKD is YA now?

Having just researched some of the books I read as a teen... it appears I read lots of YA fiction I just didn't realise it.

Another precursor to it is the very early web series 'comedy' called Junkies... which starred Peter Baynham, Peter Serafinowicz, Sally Phillips and the ever strange Kevin Eldon. Not many clips online...but there is this...

I never understood the appeal of YA novels, even when I was a young adult I recognised nothing of my life, personality desires or fantasies in the books aimed at me.

The thing about Taxidermia is that it's beautiful cinematography...but is also deeply twisted....

Jam created by Chris Morris -can't embed for some reason so just links sadly

Allegedly the set designers from Star Trek:The Original Series re-used one particular rock so often, painting it a new colour each week that Derek Nimmo (or was it Gyles Brandreth?) had a fan club and wrote letters to it...

So many good moments in Endhiran, I was amused, thrilled and excited at various points during its marvellous 3hours.

I have seen some of Time Chasers... it is deeply poor...

Now playing

If only Timeslingers was a sequel to Timestalkers...

1d10 is just annoying... always found d20 to be the versatile die (dice?)
