Crow foot wrenches have been sitting in my toolbox for over a decade now. I still haven’t used them. Seems like every time when a crowfoot seems like a solution, it won’t work or fit.

This is why most of my money is in index funds, except for that little bit I put into TSLA several years back.

I've seen studies that show financial advisors don't tend to outperform the market.  When a list of stocks and a dart can do a better job than the experts, then they're not really experts.

He was right to think that Tesla is overvalued. He was wrong to think that it mattered.

1st gear: The guy who lost all your money is the real narcissist, thinking he, sitting in front of a computer that automates all the micro trades he does to make rich people richer, knows more than the man in the arena.  Fund managers should be gathered up and shot into the sun.

1st Gear: This guy is like someone going to the casino playing with your money.

Highways aren’t interstates. Those two lane roads that can be a joy to drive, are highways. The main arteries in your city, that we car enthusiasts use to get to work, are usually highways. Would you rather spend $300 on an awesome set of brake rotors, or to repair a bent wheel that came as a result of what Jalopnik

No, but it’s crazy to make that money unrestricted, because that makes it liable to be spent on what we don’t need (more roads) instead of what we do need (better management of the roads we already have).

And some elevated highways need to be torn down.

On one hand Jalopnik complains about “Our Garbage Infrastructure” and then complains when government spends money to fix those same roads and bridges.

To be fair here, and admittedly I’m splitting hairs, I feel like his concern with the $200B wasn’t that it was earmarked for highways, it was that it was too broadly apportioned. I.e, it sounds like they could use all of that just to build new highways and not repair existing ones, if they so chose.

Yes the roads and highways probably need the $300 billion for repairs. That broken bridge in Tennessee that Jalopnik loved to make articles about a few months ago was on guess what? A highway.

Bribe EV buyers with someone else’s money. Italy is doing what every other government is doing:

It’s still not crazy that 1/6th of an infrastructure bill would be spent on roads.

Street price on new Bolts has been ~$25k for several years.

I bought my 2020 Chevy Bolt with all the options this February for $21k before TTL. Didn’t need to rely on a tax rebate, either. You can absolutely get a sub-$30K electric car with 250 miles range nowadays.

2nd Gear: I may be incorrect, and this is the internet so if I am I will be corrected multiple times, but I believe a lot of our existing elevated highways are in need of replacement or massive restructuring.

So basically bribe folks to purchase an EV, the “superior” product? And am I the only one surprised to see that sales are only at 7%? If they are leading the charge, I definitely don’t see the USA moving past 2% any time soon.

Raph, why don’t you quit your job? It is obvious to a casual observer that you actually hate cars.
2nd gear: Highways are where we drive cars. We are car enthusiasts. We like better roads that don’t beat the shit out of our cars.
4th gear: If you have a problem with raking in huge chunks of cash from ICE vehicles, then

I think it’s Jalopnik that is touting Italy, not Italy itself.
