if it doesn’t suck, it might be my next ride”

I have not bought a cars lately (heh), but I wish I could, my SO wants an XC-90 again but I want one of the newer ones and those are just a little over our budget. An Alfa would be a very pretty car to have, but that Italian engine, sheesh.

Good luck with it Mercedes. I have always had a desire for a Phaeton but when I think of any kind of maintenance my body seizes up.

I’m excited and afraid for you, Mercedes.

The previous owner claims that a cooling system flush was already done. The squeaky clean pink coolant seems to support that.

Maybe the timing belt change is 75% of the labor to get to the water pump?

Why throw a water pump at it before you’ve done a cooling system flush and thermostat?

When the passing maneuver went all the way into a second corner i thought he would bin it for sure.Even though i knew the outcome.
I guess i’m overly nervous of wet roads from years of riding motorcycles, lol

It was probably the least-recognized best large car entry-level non-luxury luxury car on the market. I mean, you got ridiculous horsepower in a spacious, leather-swaddled throne that’s basically invisible to cops due to its badge and styling, all for under $50k.

I guess geriatric liberals will have to hang on to their current Toyota Avalon until they go to the great Costco in the sky.

If Max loses the championship this year, it would be one of the worst losses for a driver in my memory.

Actually allowing this would be analogous to the people years ago who screamed for ala carte cable channels, only to discover that by the time they paid for all the different streaming services they wanted, the price was no different than the old cable bundle.

Good! This is how it should have always been.  Now make it so we can order certain things WITHOUT having to get other things that we do not want.

I have re-read my post and I have no idea how you reach the conclusion that I am defending this or any cop. Many cops do their jobs well but they also defend and cover for those that don’t. Many other cops are bullies and cowards which this officer may eventually prove to be. If so, he should be fired for terrible

Sure it does. If the kid isn’t riding in a dumb manner, this story doesn’t exist. We’re not talking about a vengeful act by the cop, we’re talking about the entire force shitting all over the community after a stupid accident happened.

Exactly why...

At night, in heavy traffic, in front of a cop car with sirens and lights on.

No question the CHP officer should have stopped to check on the kid after he made contact with the car. I would suspect the optics of this situation will lead the CHP to apologize and discipline the officer, etc.

I am a strong crusader for better police oversight and laws so abuse is caught and corrected. As for individual cops, they are neither angels nor demons. They are human, with the same capacity for acts of generosity or cowardice as any of us. Remember that when declaring law enforcement to be heroes or murderers.

Whether they intended it or not, it says a lot about how things are designed that people decided AFK walking in circles was the best way to make progress.
