To be fair, HBCU’s have already answered the questions she asked. You can have an institution that serves women and accepts trans men the same way HBCU’s make space for non-black students.

This has also been a hot discussion amongst both students and alums so I doubt there was low turnout.

The disappointment comes from W having made a big deal (and profiting in terms of goodwill) about how we’re moving forward with more open arms towards trans students only to backtrack a few years later (hasn’t even been 10 years) because the political climate is less friendly. A lot of brave students came forward for

I don’t think you should count physical, mental, verbal (and rumored other abuses) as first world problems. The fact that she was jealous of Ariana Grande is probably the least groundbreaking thing that’s in that memoir.

Intersectionality isn’t about using the resources of a colonized group to save the colonizers from the consequences of their decisions.

Never thought to make merch, but my friends and I would call these people Hollister Whores in high school.

Not to pile on but I think what’s dangerous about kink shaming here is that predators use that to their advantage to take advantage of vulnerable people interested in BDSM. Instead of emphasizing that the kink was the problem, we should emphasize that it was the lack of consent that was the issue here.

It’s a combination of both that are needed and because that would challenge these institutions - won’t happen.

Team canned all day. I’m a robust philistine.

There are different kinds of privilege, here we’re talking about race and in particular the way dark-skinned women are treated unfairly compared to fair-skinned women, regardless of income.

Good riddance, as long as she (hopefully) tones her hair before the ceremony all will be well.

That’s fair, but it’s the assumption that lighter skin is “better looking” that’s the issue here. There are plenty or dark skinned actresses who are better looking than irl Stagecoach Mary but they chose instead someone who looks nothing like her when it would’ve been just as easy to pick an actress that shares her

Your feelings of discomfort are valid as light-skinned people aren’t ultimately responsible for white supremacy favoring proximity to whiteness.

My gentle pushback on this take is the assumption that there aren’t women who prefer the hijab and niqab (apologies for leaving out other head coverings) in and of themselves.

The issue isn’t so much that white feminism isn’t inclusive, it’s that it’s oppressive. If you believe that white supremacy exists and is baked into institutions, then a brand of feminism that doesn’t challenge that (say how black feminism, womanysm, radical queer theory, etc. do) is upholding an oppressive status

YEP! And the same for women who aren’t hyper-femme. Queen Latifah wouldn’t have been in all those rom coms in the early 2000's if she were styled like Lena Waithe or DaBrat.

Not to be one of those superfans (not a fan, just find them culturally interesting) but Khloe has mentioned this before on the show before.

Yeah, I’ll say it for her, they hate themselves and their mothers.

YES! I remember this vine when it’s posted and think of it whenever they post pictures of their children.

To be fair though, I’m this same age as this woman and didn’t write offensive tweets, one because I’m not a bigot I don’t think it’s cool to be bigoted and two because I anticipated shit like this happening.
