fortunately it’s not only the gaming industry which is being prostituted into oblivion by the capitalists who fashioned consumer society, it’s the entire world!
this is the rebranding. They’re rebranding. They’re presenting their brand differently. That is what rebranding is. The team has changed, the mentality has changed, the politics animating the enterprise has changed, and so its output has changed too. Why couldn’t these people just start a new thing and leave the…
I love the part where he says open world game design philosophy at Ubisoft amounts to spreading the meaningful gameplay decisions as thinly as possible across a meaningless space.
more like spoken for amirite
I am a huge Fable fan too, but dude, it was the team at Lionhead and especially the Carter brothers who made the first two games great. Big Blue Box was their studio, Fable was their baby, and they got bought and absorbed by Lionhead quite early in development if I’m not mistaken
yo for real, I don’t understand why people keep going on about disease? It’s like, hello, vaccines exist, we can stop talking about disease now
imagine buying EA games lol
KotOR 3 was stolen from us and all we got was this amazing series of CGI trailers
this is going to be a flop. There are so many signs
you probably know this but the old lucasarts was to blame. Obsidian was down to do it, but were left hanging. It’s just gutting that they put out one of the best star wars games ever and imo the best fallout game and got burned both times for their work
I adored Morrowind and Oblivion and waited eagerly for Skyrim for years. When it came out, I rushed to play through the main quest to beat the spoilers and find out which of the awesome ideas I’d seen tossed around on the BGS forums would be touched on by the actual creators of my favourite game world. I genuinely…
internet apologies don’t have to be logically coherent, they have to be over the top and saccharine. That’s what seems to work, especially among a demographic like the one dumb enough to follow “FaZe Clan”
damn, that arsehole metaphor really took the gravitas out of what you were saying lol. Did you ever watch Team America?
this is great and all but the UK is not doing OK and with it looking like the dumb fucks (hi I’m English) will keep voting the Tories in forever no matter what they do, expect to see those labour standards slide in the name of “attracting the best global talent to our world-beating employer-friendly economy 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬…
companies exist to make money. But. People without money can’t buy products. Ergo, companies selling to the masses should support the redistribution of wealth from the few to the many before they support restrictive, utterly futile practices like DRM. Thank you for coming to my TED talk
idk if I’d call it “swinging for the fences,” Starfield’s single, boring trailer with zero gameplay along with a couple of cagey (and paywalled) interviews, the main takeaway being “our extremely dull-looking space RPG will involve exploration and factions,” but I am definitely just bitter
I wasted enough of my life already getting to grips with and then playing the hell out of EU4. Never again, Paradox. Never again
