Exactly right. From the NCAA rulebook:

Basket interference, not goaltending. Ball was above the basket when touched. It's a strict liability call; unlike goaltending, it doesn't require that the ball have a hope in hell of actually going in. Bullshit way to lose a game, but blame the rules, not the ref.

In general there isn't in the US. Freedom of press and speech generally takes priority over right to privacy. Though if they did something illegal to gain her information they may be liable for damages in a civil suit.
