@ProfessorSlowmobile: nah, I don't think it'll weigh that much, and even if it's as heavy as 2500 lbs (and I really don't see how you can think this is going to weigh more than a Honda Fit when it'll be a smaller car with the same size drivetrain), that hp should still be adequate out the door. I don't think many

As long as they make it RWD, then I'd be very happy. They were supposed to make a super cheap, rwd car in the first place. Don't include luxury features, don't include tech gadgets, don't try to make it high horsepower. Just leave enough space on the exhaust manifold side of the engine so you can throw a turbo on

@GreenMeanie: No, it was direct cylinder injection with pneumatic controls. It passed emissions standards into the late 70s, iirc with no EGR or CAT

seriously... the xke COUPE??? WHY!?!?! There's a good reason the roadsters are worth like 5x-10x as much

No 'vette ? For a 430 HP v8, it does pretty darn well.

@Fodder650: aww, too bad there isn't a picture of the HUD. I still want one of these some day, complete with HUD, tent and cooler.

@bearslayer: Well, he didn't preface that with "Don't try this at home" so I'd say go for it!

69k isn't cheap, but it's less than the gt-r which is currently the performance bargain of the century. also, this car doesn't look or seem nearly as geeky, and hopefully if cadillac does have any reliability issues, they won't insult their customers on any auto forums...

@MCheese: yeah, 15k miles, not 15k dollars... but, if you read the item description, he claims this kit cost $3k, so depending on how cheaply you work - you might still be able to design and build your own parts for less.

@Tommy861: I understand that many cars along these lines require removing the engine to do things that most people would consider simple.

Ok, www.ferrparts.com has the 15k parts kit for this car listed as:

what can i say, i'm a child of the '80s. The Testarossa was the on my wall growing up (as was the Countach). I would totally, and unapologetically, rock this thing. Hey, how hard can a 15k service interval be anyway, right?

@jodark: I've seen one roundabout since I came to TX. At the time I discovered it, there just happened to be a woman driving the wrong way around it. I love roundabouts, but think people are generally too stupid to use them correctly. Of course, I'm still all for putting them in, it should help clear the roads of bad

@500wishes: I hate 2 more than any other type of stop sign bad behavior. A stop sign is NOT your personal parking space. Just because you momentarily came to a stop doesn't mean you can look down and start texting or putting on makeup. You are still part of the traffic flow, and are impeding and disrupting traffic

our house...in the middle of the creek

Hrmm, it seems pretty self explanatory why the car only has 5k miles on it. If I owned it, I'd just get it in every now and then, fire up the engine, turn on the "lower" AC and sit in the driveway and relax. This seems much more suitable to being a really nice couch than a really bad car.

Well, knowing VWs, the digital odometer isn't working, and she's really only been driving 8k miles a year!
