Well, to be clear, I have the opposite reaction: I don’t want us to have higher standards now. It seems to me that, like walking paths, the best course of action is to meet people where they are. That’s bound to wind up with problems and contradictions, but there’s no silver bullet for that; people are shitty in all

Battlebit is selling for about the same price as a battle pass for a modern AAA shooter and contains several orders of magnitude more utility and value. That’s reason enough to get it. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Battlefield 2042 is discounted in the current Steam sale to pretty much exactly the same price.

Judging by Steam hardware surveys, that’s not true at all. The majority of PC gamers use Intel and Nvidia hardware. AMD-sponsored games tend to be disadvantageous to both Intel and Nvidia users, which means AMD-sponsorship is a negative for most PC gamers.

I doubt it. Most PC gamers don't have the latest GPUs, which means they are relying on upscaling tech to get 60 FPS or higher. That seems to be the main reason (aside from not owning an Xbox) to play on PC instead of console, so I suspect many of us will be interested.

Translation: “We see an opportunity to make more money and we’re going for it.”

It might take time getting used to but a friend couldn’t help but notice how many of the character’s poses and animations seem directly lifted from the art style of the old instruction manuals which seem to be a very nice touch.

Honestly I was absolutely not expecting a new 2D-ish game so I’m tempted to give this one a

And the original’s art was stellar so what’s your point?

It’s literally an HD version of the original game’s art.  I love it.

It’s also a gameplay problem - running through a dungeon trying to find the mobs is not compelling gameplay. The dungeons with the spawns they shut down were showing 3+ elites on the screen regularly, which makes for a better gameplay experience in terms of the satisfaction from winning the fight.

Agreed. I am playing a necro that can’t curse anyone because I need both my skeleton slot and my golem slot, leaving only my to mouse button skills, my ult and exploding corpses. I feel the lack of of cursing, but I really don’t want to give up my golem.

Late stage capitalism is a real slap in the face, yeah.

Are you really going to jump on every single comment until someone finally agrees with your “Kill the perpetrators” opinion? Let it rest, nobody in these comments is as hellbent on retribution as you are.

The entire concept is built around a false sense of companionship and friendship between streamers and subscribers/followers. It’s fucking weird, and oftentimes attracts some of the most anti-social people on the planet. In a way, it parallels some of the struggles sex workers face, albeit a bit more removed, but if a

Yeah that’s the other thing: we can sit here thinking about the economics of how many people does it take to cancel out a whale, but then there’s nothing indicating we’re anything than a vocal minority anyway. Plenty of people have grown up with this as the new normal now.

MW2 can’t afford to not have dedicated servers” lol

I don’t even use anything impacted, and I’m just sick of this attitude. The lack of care, the ‘fuck the public’, the sheer arrogant contempt for others is not just nauseating but wearing.

I’ll just stick with “insert average old game” to act cool on the internet too.

This is fun stuff. Reminds me that the Wrestling games in the early aughts had this feature and my friends and I would spend hours making characters. Making historical figures was the best, nothing like seeing Stalin choke slam Lincoln
