I’ll take “Cars that are actually less reliably than my own bi-turbo early 2000s 12 cylinder Mercedes-Benz” for $1,000 please, Doug.

“Cadillac seems insecure and maybe a little ashamed of the cars they made in the past, and they don’t seem interested in re-visiting it in any context.”
Wanna know where you can stick your push button transmission? I’ll tell ya where you can stick it...
I’m liking the fact that from some angles, the 200 face on the van is reminiscent of the 2001-2004 Town & Country models, which I like. I had a friend in high school who inherited his dad’s 250,000 mile 2002 T&C LX as a second car for when we all couldn’t fit comfortably into my Continental. So ove got good vibes…
As in Medici crushed velour, Cadillacs 1970’s bread and butter upholstery? Which the interior of that poor maserati seems to be lousy with?
I have always maintained that a 4-banger Camry XLE with leather seats is the best beater car you can buy. It won’t die, the luxury trim models have never failed to be supremely comfortable. And they still use a real transmission instead of a CVT, even with their 4 cylinders in the Camry. So, you know, go Toyota.
We are supposed to change the oil every 3000 miles by company policy. I brought in 3 to Mr. Tire today that were at least 2000 miles overdue today alone, one was 5000. It never gets done.
That’s right! Mercedes debuted their V12 in the 600SEL in 1992. Thank you for reminding me!
They debuted the 65 AMG V12 in the new soft top S-Class AND they’re upping production numbers so the cars in general are less rare and in the long term more plentiful and therefore EVEN LESS expensive on the used market?!
This...this is a damn brilliant idea. This kind of outdated extravagance is right up my alley and I would love to hear what the ownership experience actually is.
Do cops know to check behind the nav screen yet?
I wish I could have back every car I ever owned. I want my Park Avenue Ultra back. And I want my Lincoln Continental back. But they’re were in such a state when I let them go, there wont be anything left when I’ve got the capital to go looking for them. I could go out and buy the same car and year, just in better…
2 things:
“ Likewise, adaptive cruise control, first offered globally in 1999 on Mercedes-Benz’s flagship S-Class, will be available next year on a Nissan Sentra or Honda Civic costing roughly $20,000.”
I wish my 94 Park Avenue Ultra actually made boost. I’m not sure if it did or didn’t, but it was damn lethargic when it wasn’t supposed to be so my best guess is no. Which means despite owning a 3800 series S/C, I still don’t really know what they’re like to drive.
You read on the Bimmer forums that this is how you get forced induction on an E38, you have to have a centrifugal supercharger off in the corner like that. Never seen it till now and boy does it look sketchy. I know the pipe isn’t kinked, that’s a 90 degree box angle to save space, but that just looks so unfortunate.
Ha! I got the losers at Wells Fargo to finance an 11 year old V12 Mercedes with 120,000 miles on the clock! And before anybody even though about making the first payment, State Farm sends us a letter offering to refinance the car at like 0.1% less! Maybe they will ONLY finance vehicles that make no financial sense.
It’s a Lincoln ATS-V.....
Preach to the choir. Not even just the Germans too. My dad’s Jaguar XJ8 has perfectly can sized cupholders, can’t fit anything but your standard 12 oz.
Is that a Citroen DS Safari?
